GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson on Sunday stood by his comments that a Muslim should not be president, pointing out that the tenets of Islam come from Sharia law and the Koran.
“What we should be talking about is Islam and the tenets of Islam and where do they come from?” he told Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week.” “They come from Sharia. They come from the Koran. They come from, you know, the life works and examples of Muhammad. They come from the fatwas, which is the writings of scholars.”
He said if someone could show him an Islamic text that opposes Sharia law, he would change his mind about a Muslim’s ability to be commander-in-chief of the United States.

I’ll tell you what, I didn’t think Carson had it in him to keep going on this, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I think Trump’s take no prisoners approach to our media, Democrats, and GOPe is rubbing off on the other candidates.

Martha Raddatz followed the MSM template of concentrating on non-issues to smear Reps. The fact is that the Muslim remarks by Carson increased his popularity. His views are a reflection of how the majority of Americans really feel. It is common sense based on reality. One just has to look at Sweden, France, Holland, Germany, etc. to see what the impact is of a large Muslim population.
There are quite possibly some off-shoots of islam that don't hold to sharia, but they would be considered heretical to any orthodox muslim.
God, BLESS this man. I am amazed at his forthrightness, his complete unwillingness to be cowed. He’s taken the time to research and learn before he opens his mouth. A quality to be emulated, not scorned.

Everyone should be reading it because of the approach he uses: their own texts, apologists, and their own hermeneutics.

This is good and maybe the only way the American public can be exposed to these types of facts. BTW, GWB started most of this crap and misconception when he called them ROP, and every pol since who makes the case that it is only radicals we need to be weary of.
