The infamous Ground Zero Mosque project is officially dead. We won. We the People.
Crains New York reports that the unsavory developer behind the Ground Zero Mosque initiative, Sharif El-Gamal, is now making different plans: “Mr. El-Gamal’s Soho Properties has proposed a 667-foot condominium tower at lower Manhattan’s 45 Park Place. The glass skyscraper, which has yet to break ground, will include at least 15 full-floor units of 3,200 to 3,700 square feet, and average prices higher than $3,000 a square foot, according to plans released to Bloomberg by the developer.”
If El-Gamal hopes to snag $3,000 a square foot, there is no way he would sneak a controversial mosque into a superlux apartment building at the site of the worst attack in American soil. Who would want to live in such a high profile target?
But El-Gamal’s announcement makes it official: The Ground Zero Mosque project is dead.
It was a long battle. President Obama announced his support for the mosque at an Iftar dinner, no less. Then-Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg supported the mosque as well, claiming hysterically that “if we don’t build it, the terrorists will win!” The media actively campaigned for it — the elites in their increasingly fragile ivory towers relentlessly stumped for the Cordoba mosque (euphemistically called an Islamic center with a prayer space) for years.
And yet despite all this opposition and much more, the people stood up and fought against the Ground Zero Mosque, and won. An army of Davids.

The muzz will continue to probe for weakness and attempt to build it there, again, over time, or somewhere else meaningful, like across the street from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, by building it bigger, higher, etc. The 14 centuries of battle with islam is far from being over, it lay dormant for a few centuries but it is back, full force and invading Europe and attempting to do the same here. It’s not over until they are fully vanquished. I mean fully vanquished.

What prevents this slime ball muzzie from sectioning off a couple 10-20 floors and creating a mosque overlooking their greatest triumph (so far) over the evil satan America?
And do not come back saying the cost. The Saudis have tons of money to back these things for spreading their laws over us.

We need a law banning the practice of Islam in America. It is not a religion, it is a cult bent on destroying us.

Oh it’s a religion... an evil one, though one whose evil is often restrained to be much less than it could be.
To call it not a religion is just to flatly deny what is very real: i.e. a challenge that the storied American religious tolerance is ill prepared to address. In WWII the American beef was with Japan, not with Shinto. McCarthy and his anti-American activity vigilantes went after Communism, not after atheism.
Christian faith is the best bulwark against the problem. We do well to learn to assert that mushy religion is not enough for us, that Christ has a specific meaning and it isn’t esoteric but very practical both now and in eternity. There is a constant interplay of men and God and angels and demons. The more angels attracted, the more blessing of God attracted, the less problems from demons. Christian faith itself makes a premise of the proposition that this is true. Jesus does not just stand there as an inert object of belief; He acts in specific ways.
They NEVER give up. A Mosque WILL be built at Ground Zero!!!

Geller is a fairly reliable reporter. I would take this that they aren’t going to do “classic mosque” as in the onion dome at the site. Opening an Islamic chapel in the building would be another story. Even a private apartment could be dedicated to the purpose.

Saudi Arabia itself, in the most charming of Islamic charity, is sponsoring mosques all over the globe (well, maybe not in Antarctica, yet). They don’t seem to care for that purpose whether it is Sunni or Shiite or whether it is “moderate” or what. I guess they would care if it turned on them, but money hushes. For now.
BS, my money says at some point they will include a mosque in this building.
