The difference is that Putin’s policy is very simple. Ours is very confused, contradictory, and murky.
Putin’s policy will tend to keep Christians alive. Ours tends to get their heads chopped off.
Strange world. Its what happens when you elect a president like Obama.

There is no end to the Syria war. Assad will remain in power until Putin decides Syria is no longer of use to him.
The media will spin it as a great achievement. Obama gets his red line back, Putin gets Syria, and the media blackout will never reach the American people to know it was a farce.
And until November 2016, Hillary can claim it was a great negotiation between her and her counterpart. John Kerry is deeply saddened by the snub.
Does Obama bow on the phone when his Saudi masters call? How will he explain this? The war in Syria cost the Gulf states trillions.

Obma has no clout at all on the world stage....which is why he’s sucking up to the Pope now........Putin is always ten steps ahead of Obama anyway....so is China....the US has ceased to matter under this administration.
Iran is crucifying Christians? Beheading them? Listen, all Muslims are nutso but maybe because the Iranians are Persians and minority Shia in Islam they are not as nuts as the Sunni Wahhabist Arabs.
Iran even has a large ancient Christian population (I think mostly Armenians) who they have not destroyed in like 40 years since they overthrew the Shah and they grant the Christians seats in their govt.
It was not Assad's Shia ruled Syria that was killing Christians just because they were Christians. So no, your Iran analogy is wrong.
Putin goes in to whack ISIS and keep Assad. Obummer nods and reinserts his thumb up his butt.
Putin now has greater influence in the Middle East since our weak-kneed commander scurried out of the area.
I don’t mind that Russia takes out ISIS.
I do mind that they get Syria as their payoff.

While I agree that the latter part is true, the former part is simply a by-product of (and a fig leaf for) Putin's real policy goal, which is to have a permanent and not-insubstantial Russian military presence in the Mideast.
Putin does NOTHING without a lot of self- or national interest involved.

Im guessing you don’t mean Saudi Arabia and instead mean Iran. But I would ask you to notice, ISIS and the Rebels were a lethal threat to Christians.
Assads Syria and Iran both have Christian population.
Saudi Arabia makes it illegal. Iran even has a jewish population.
So if you want to protect middle eastern Christians, you should be able to see wahhabist jihadis as the main threat.
