Iran is crucifying Christians? Beheading them? Listen, all Muslims are nutso but maybe because the Iranians are Persians and minority Shia in Islam they are not as nuts as the Sunni Wahhabist Arabs.
Iran even has a large ancient Christian population (I think mostly Armenians) who they have not destroyed in like 40 years since they overthrew the Shah and they grant the Christians seats in their govt.
It was not Assad's Shia ruled Syria that was killing Christians just because they were Christians. So no, your Iran analogy is wrong.
I’m not so sure. When I attended a talk at Voice of the Martyrs HQ a couple years ago, it featured a leader of the Iranian underground church (based out of London). He mentioned that they had lost 8 operatives in Iran in the preceding year or so to martyrdom at the hands of government/Islamic “security forces”, and there were another half dozen or so suspicious deaths where nothing could be proven. (Obviously, the house church movement can’t ask for clarification from the Iranian government in such matters!)
While I would agree with what you said about Iran's behavior toward Christians SO FAR, I absolutely DO think that they are AT LEAST as nuts as the Wahhabists. Remember, they believe in the 12th Imam, and that the only way to bring about his coming is by plunging the world into war. When they nuke (or try to) us and Israel, I'd like you to tell me about their level of sanity.

I have posted on this question here before and I still can’t get a satisfying answer.
In the civil war in Islam between the Wahhabi, genocidal, medieval Sunnis backed by Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies who finance ISIS and do not tolerate any form of Christianity within their borders, and the Shiites backed by Iran, a country that has one of the more tolerant, educated, and women-friendly societies (hey, it’s the Middle East we’re talking about here, so these things are relative), why is the US backing the head-chopping Saudi troglodytes?
I get the Tehran US Embassy siege, I understand the resentment against that, but that was forty years or more ago. Iran has posed little or no threat to the US since then. Its people are actually very pro-western in outlook, have a more advanced form of democracy than most Gulf states, educate women and give them the vote, and tolerate Christians and even Jews freely practicing their religion.
Meanwhile our throat-cutting, women-hating, freak-show, desert-dwelling “good friends the Saudis” sent out the 9-11 attackers and fund ISIS.
And the US backs the Saudis?
