Thanks.....you just saved everyone a couple million bucks.....cops, court, attorney, jail, 3 meals...
The man has exceptional gun control...
Nah - according to TFA the perp lived.
Very suspicious. I call on the DOJ to investigate the shooter.
Having worked at a bank for years there are a couple of interesting things MOST people do not know.
At an FDIC insured bank, the bank employees are prevented from taking any action against a robber. They are instructed in how to comply with orders. There are so many things in the bank that will either prevent the perp from getting far, or will provide a lot of visual information about them.
The second thing, and this is hardly known by many people, is that unless the robber is a repeat offended OR they are a complete idiot, they will get away with the robbery if they act alone and have never been in the bank before. AND, if they do hurt anyone or fire a shot.
Or...if they get shot by a customer. (And I will bet none of the robbers saw THAT coming! ha ha....)
Bravo! Chalk one more up to the good guys! On another note, isn’t it illegal to carry a gun into a bank?
Interesting. They are more afraid of you and me than they are of the police and of going to prison.
Heartwarming story.
Police are easily spotted by uniform.
Armed citizens just look ordinary, they could be anywhere, that’s what scares criminals, there’s no warning.
I think it varies by state.
I know it is not illegal to do so in Virginia. Individual banks can have “no guns” policies if they wish, but there is not law against it.
I do it all the time, that is to say, I think it is legal, there are no signs saying it isn’t. (Wisconsin)
Can’t carry here in Kentucky banks but my wife says it is too much trouble to take it out of her purse and put it in the glove compartment so she ignores it. I always just go through the drive through.
Here outside the people’s republic of madistan, the UW credit union has the no guns sticker plastered on the door. As do most of the national bank chains. I haven’t seen any of those stickers on the banks I do business though. (Away from the walk-in thug areas)
Citizen needs more range time. Perp is the hospital.
Bait money and the die bomb.
USAA Bank finally has the sign up that complies with Texas law. I ignore it because I’m exempt. I expect many military types who bank there also ignore it even if not exempt.
I csrry in our local branch all the time. I do not see any posted signs, and there are certainly no metal detectors. I feel a lot more secure going out to the parking lot after withdrawing cash knowing I can defend myself.
