U.S. Soldiers Told to Ignore Afghan Allies’ Abuse of Boys
The New York Times ^ | 20 Sept 2015 | Joseph Goldstein

Posted on 09/20/2015 11:28:19 AM PDT by Theoria

In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.

“At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.”

Rampant sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan, particularly among armed commanders who dominate much of the rural landscape and can bully the population. The practice is called bacha bazi, literally “boy play,” and American soldiers and Marines have been instructed not to intervene — in some cases, not even when their Afghan allies have abused boys on military bases, according to interviews and court records.

The policy has endured as American forces have recruited and organized Afghan militia to help hold territory against the Taliban. But soldiers and Marines have been increasingly troubled that instead of weeding out pedophiles, the American military was arming them in some cases and placing them as the commanders of villages — and doing little when they began abusing children.

“The reason we were here is because we heard the terrible things the Taliban were doing to people, how they were taking away human rights,” said Dan Quinn, a former Special Forces captain who beat up an American-backed militia commander for keeping a boy chained to his bed as a sex slave.

John Quincy Adams on Islam

In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar, the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself as a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth. Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust, by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE.

Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. That war is yet flagrant; nor can it cease but by the extinction of that imposture, which has been permitted by Providence to prolong the degeneracy of man. While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will towards men. The hand of Ishmael will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him. It is, indeed, amongst the mysterious dealings of God, that this delusion should have been suffered for so many ages, and during so many generations of human kind, to prevail over the doctrines of the meek and peaceful and benevolent Jesus (Blunt, 1830, 29:269, capitals in orig.).

What you point out really illustrates the total bankruptcy of our “leaders.”

Such acts are contrary to the morals most American’s are/were raised. Perhaps the tolerance as pursued by our military command is why we see such disgust in humanity, and a reason so many don’t see fit to mingle any longer in such a society.

The Islamist’s are creatures that belong to the past, and should have been left there.

They haven’t any desire to modernize themselves, but only to wreck, and ruin our modernization, instill the ignorance, and hatred that we surpassed centuries ago
into our World.

There is no way I personally will tolerate any Islamist pressing his/her perspectives towards governing my life.

Ray Charles probably didn’t pronounce “nothing” as “nuffin”. Just because he was black didn’t mean he was inarticulate.

What if they were tying up women and burning them alive? Would that qualify as something to ‘get involved in’? US liberal feminist might not like it.

Or are liberals in the US saying to look away because they see it as a new form of ‘gay power’?

There’s nothing for us to protect in this culture - we should pack up and leave. If any of these horrible monsters come to the US and attack us then we fight with everything we’ve got... Until then let’s get out of this hellhole.

A directive presumably handed down from the Faggot in Chief?

What about theft from the US Government? Do we let these poeple steal from us if part of their culture is ‘it’s OK to steal from foreigners?

If the Russians want this hellhole, let them have it. I don’t even care if ISIS wants this hellhole. Whatever.

All cultures are NOT equal - and it’s past time we stopped pushing that idiocy.

NO, JIM JONES and his temple of death are NOT the same as the Midwestern Methodists... Charlie Manson was the head of a cult - he’s wasn’t the equal of the Pope.

Take a deeep breath ... and get real.

Who are says we are not allowed to judge? Not God. God told us to hate evil and to make fair and good judgments. The only one who says humans do not have the right to judge are other humans, usually those who are misbehaving or those uncomfortable to point out others are misbehaving. All of life is judgment. Only God has final judgment and infliction of a final punishment or forgiveness. The rest of us must use good judgment though many are phobic of judgment as they see it negatively as condemnation rather then positive assertiveness of the difference between good and bad. And yes their is a difference though some are blind to the obviousness of it.
