A Methodist pastor who was told to resign from his Michigan church because of his sexuality visited the Bay Area to share his story.
Rev. Benjamin Hutchinson spoke to the Twin Towers Methodist Church in Alameda on Friday and discussed the life-changing moment when he was told to resign because he is gay. He said he has decided to take his story on the road and change minds along the way.
Hutchinson said he was forced to resign from Cassopolis United Methodist Church after he told the bishop about his gay partner. According to the United Methodist Church's guidelines, that makes him unfit to lead.
Since the resignation, Hutchinson has talked to churches around the country and preaching the gospel of inclusivity.
"I still have my faith," he said. "My career had been taken away. A paycheck as I would say."
Hutchinson married his partner days after his dismissal in July and now relies solely on his income. He hopes the issue of sexuality being an issue for ministers withing the Methodist Church is discussed and resolved at the church's general conference.
oh fekkin’ boo hoo
somehow there is a generation of people like this that were told “the world belings to them” and that ain’t true.
He needs to take that show on the road— everyone will want to hear his tale..
That's a bizarre statement. Faith in what, I wonder?

It is the ‘gospel of inclusivity’, you know .....
That God isn’t the same, yesterday, today and always.
Hopefully he still has his Bible as well. It will explain a lot if he reads it.
I sometimes read too fast and my mind will mistranslate the image I see ...
I thought this was from the Cesspool United Methodist Church
Gospel of Inclusivity......which book in the Bible is that again?
No, you were dismissed for violating the rules of the church by taking up with a partner, a fact you apparently were comfortable enough lying about by not informing the church about your violation. And then days after you were fired, you got a document claiming that you were married to this same person.
Now, how about you open that book you are carrying around and start reading it? How about you stop lying? How about you open your heart with prayer and ask for forgiveness for your sins?
Whoops, there's a knock at the door, I'm apparently homophobic for pointing out that you were lying and will be shipped to a re-education camp shortly for failure to glorify your life.

Wouldn’t it be unfair if an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi was removed because he ran a hog farm! Or if a Catholic Priest was removed because he had a side job providing abortions!
Then he has no business leading a Christian church if it’s true to the Bible, and in spite of denominational differences, that one was historically, traditionally, an easy one (sodomy=abomination)
Walker Reilly moved to San Francisco and became a pastor again as well.
He wasn’t a homo just a plain old murderer
Watch Pastor Billy Crone’s “Final Countdown Ultimate Version” on YouTube sometime. I wish I could remember which episode/teaching it was in (there’s a lot of episodes in the series), but it’s probably the ones dealing with apostacy, where he shows clips from interviews with former and even current “pastors” who sometimes anonymously, admit that they are even atheists but won’t tell their flocks because they don’t want to lose the paycheck. This is the “pastors” themselves admitting this, pastors of evangelical churches.
I’m sure the section in Genesis about Sodom and Gomorrah is torn out. That or the has the “Queen James” bible.
