Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson isnt persuaded by rival Donald Trumps immigration plans.
On Tuesday, the neurosurgeon-turned-politico told the Commonwealth Club of California that Trumps proposal to deport all undocumented immigrants is "impractical."
"People who say that have no idea what that would entail," he said during the 75-minute event. "Where you going to send them?"
Another question: How would the U.S.' economy survive such a mass deportation. According to a study from the American Action Forum, deporting 11 million people would take nearly 20 years and cost the government anywhere between $400 billion and $600 billion. Overall, the Real GDP would fall by as much as $1.6 trillion.
During his talk, Carson expressed that mass deportation isnt just impractical and expensive but that it would also cripple the hotel and agriculture industries.

So long, Ben.
Never trusted you after you decided I wasn’t fit to own a firearm.
You mean Surgeon General Carson ?
If our economy has become dependent on illegals while we have 94 million people NOT WORKING, then we will just have to “tough it up.”
Ben’s a nice guy, but he’s playing it too compassionately for my comfort.
Liberals are generous with other people’s money and time. Ben is showing his liberalism.
So we let them stay and vote for Democrats who will cripple those industries and a few more besides.
Every time Carson talks I respect him less.
The problem with guest worker, as the Germans have found out having the same program with the Turks, is, yes, they are not citizens, but, they’re also not going anywhere either. So when there’s a slow down in the economy, and they get laid off, the suck at the teat of welfare and assistance and don’t go home. They are not a guest, they are a permanent resident without formal citizenship...hmmmm...sounds familiar? And when there are too many of them, and let’s say you decide that they should go home, they turnaround and say....oh yeah, you and what army are going to force us to leave? Well, unless you have a backbone, a system in place and can ignore world opinion, you lose. Period.
Political implosion beginning now.
I very much like Ben Carson as a man and a doctor and admire what he’s accomplished. He’s God-fearing and America-loving. He’s also too nice & misguided and he shows it where illegals are concerned. He’s wrong, very wrong .... and I expect his numbers to start dropping. This is so bad, that if he keeps it up, Jeb will be courting him for VP. (sarc tag on the last sentence)
He’s just black Yeb.
I have no interest.
He should volunteer at the Vets Hospital...
Bye Bye Ben..you never fooled me
Carson is beginning to sound a lot like Jeb Bush.
Just when is the MSM media going to publish his issue stance on this subject? They demand specifics from Trump, but are silent on what Carson is saying about issues.
“People who say that have no idea what that would entail,”
The legalization process he wants would be the hardest step; deportation would be the next easiest.
“Where you going to send them?
Odd statement. Back where they came from, obviously.
Ben and done.
He has obviously been coached by operatives of The Cheap Labor Express. The language he’s using is straight out of their propaganda handbook.
Carson poll numbers going down in 3-2-1..........
This makes sense for workers who have clean criminal records.
Those who have criminal records and/or who are not employed should be deported.
See ya, Carson.
I don’t personally dislike Ben Carson but the sooner he’s out of the presidential race and back to being a doctor the happier I will be.
