'Something's wrong': The ISIS intelligence scandal just hit Obama's inner circle

The scandal surrounding US intelligence reports on ISIS just hit President Barack Obama's inner circle.

James Clapper, America's top spy, is reportedly in "frequent and unusual contact" with the military officer who is suspected of allowing US reports on ISIS to be altered to fit the administration's official line, Spencer Ackerman at The Guardian reports.

"In communications, Clapper, who is far more senior than Grove, is said to tell Grove how the war looks from his vantage point, and question Grove about Central Command’s assessments," Ackerman writes.

"Such a situation could place inherent pressure on a subordinate, sources said."

Clapper, the director of national intelligence, reportedly talks to Army Brig. Gen. Steven Grove, the head of US Central Command's intelligence wing, almost every day, according to The Guardian.

A former intelligence official told the newspaper that this was "highly unusual."

This report comes amid a Pentagon investigation into accusations that top military officials have pressured analysts into conforming their reports to the Obama administration's narrative of the fight against ISIS (also known as Islamic State, ISIL, and Daesh).

More than 50 intelligence analysts at Centcom, the Pentagon agency covering security interests in nations throughout the Middle East and Central Asia, have formally complained that senior intelligence officers have insisted on changing ISIS reports to make them reflect more positively on US efforts in the region, The Daily Beast reported this week.

Sometimes I get the feeling that Hillary’s run for office is a carefully scripted play in which Republicans win the White House, all the SHTF, Democrats and the MSM demand resignations and under pressure from the global elite, Democrats take back control of everything and finish off the country.

I can’t imagine that this is happening by chance. Democrats don’t operate that way.

This report doesn’t stop the iran “Deal”. In fact with all that we know you’d think the the senate and the HOR would be adamant about stopping it but clapper and the NSA must be feeding (blackmailing) them too!

Can any military FReepers help me understand something?

Are the US intelligence agencies generally “neutral” when it comes to intelligence? Meaning, are the intelligence analysts gathering the data and reporting it raw to their superiors or are analysts allowed to exclude things and/or write their own narratives?

I’m curious, because if they’re expected to just produce the raw intelligence data to their superiors, that means that through the chain of command there would be a certain level of the old “telephone game” where certain pieces could be plucked out or political gamesmanship could be injected.

If this is something where the intelligence community from the lowly analyst all the way up to senior brass just report raw data to the executive branch, then it serves to reason that the executive branch is doing the political gamesmanship, and that must frustrate the everliving Hell out of the analysts who are busting their asses getting this data with the expectation that something would be done to fix a problem.

Well, Democrats are still in control even when they are in the majority, thanks to Boehner and McConnell.

Saw McConnell this morning talking about the “horrendous Iran deal”

The a-hole could not even raise his voice.

All that was missing was the puppet strings leading back to Harry Reid.

< Are they lying to Obama and Congress, to the American people or to the press? > ——

It seems the leaders are leaning on “they” who analyze, causing them to lie by omission of truth. One could reasonably conclude such a scenario comes from the top.

I just hope we can build a fee nation out of the pieces left of this one.

Freudian slip? A FEE nation?

Yes, that is what we will have.....there will be a fee for everything we do.

Cementjungle @2: ""It’s a little difficult to pretend you’re fighting an enemy when in reality you’re funding, arming and supporting them."

Or as the U.S. Constitution describes it as giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

And the lips of every Congressman remain firmly attached to Traitorobama's keister.

It makes a difference if our leaders are being lied to..

It makes a bigger difference if the source of the obfuscation demands is the "leadership" itself...

But does Obama really know what is going on and approve of it? Or is he merely clueless because he does not WANT bad information.

I often wonder how he can get on TV and say how wonderful everything is- like he really believes it. Maybe they just don’t tell him bad news.

Early on someone leaked a story on how Obama rarely gets to “the office” before 10AM, sits around in sweatpants watching ESPN, while they parade people in and out of his presence. He rarely deigns to talk to them, and most just shuffle in- state their comments, and are hustled out.

After WWII Some Japanese criticized The Emperor for only listening to people who told him the war was going good. And they learned from that to always get both sides of any argument.

So, is Obama stupid? or Evil?
