Trump, Sanders Agree on Way Too Much
New York Post ^ | 8/19 | Jonah Goldberg

Posted on 08/20/2015 11:13:52 AM PDT by nickcarraway

A new chapter in American politics has begun.

Millions of Americans on the right and left have lost faith in their political parties, their government and even the economic system. Only 1 in 4 Americans are satisfied with the way things are going.

Policy experts will offer various arguments why at least some of these people are wrong to feel this way, but the discontented will not tolerate arguments that amount to “Don’t believe your lying eyes — or wallets.” In politics, feelings are more important than hard numbers.

“Consider immigration. I still believe that immigration is a net benefit for America, but those benefits aren’t felt uniformly throughout society.” from article, Jonah Goldberg

So that explains my puzzlement over Jonah Goldberg, he is an idiot; an idiot being defined here as someone who can observe that immigration is literally destroying the nation and still think it is a good thing. They can never explain how or why. Jeb! the Idiot said it was an “economic driver” three times during the debate. There are 93 million Americans not in the labor force. There are 42 million illegals in the United States. Immigration IS an economic driver, but in the wrong direction.

You haven’t given up yet? Trump just pulled ahead of Cruz in Texas.

You liberals always want to shut conservatives up. Sorry, there are still those of us who will stand up to the media and the left. You just want to surrender.

So say your buddies in the liberal media. You once claimed you supported Cruz. Now the truth is out.

Jonah has a personal vendetta against Trump that goes back to last year.

They had a twitter argument going on for about a week.

I don’t remember what it was about but Jonah said something against Trump and Trump responded that Jonah should get a real job instead of writing for a money losing publication.

I don’t think Jonah can be unbiased when it comes to Trump.

Anyone who is unable to distinguish the benefit of much of the immigration, we received between 1781 (Yorktown) & the closing of the open frontier in the 48 contiguous States, and the immigration since 1965, is hardly a pundit, that should command much respect.

The difference in the size of the settled population, alone, even if the more recent immigration was as congenial to our existing culture as that earlier--which it certainly is not--creates an undeniable problem to any reasonable person. That we have a large class of pseudo-intellectual poseurs, who pretend that little has really changed, is perhaps the greatest problem facing an American future.

If one can not understand the difference between the population at the time of independence, and 100 times the numbers today; one is no better than a bad joke--certainly not a pundit.

And, of course, I am being totally charitable, by not describing the attributes of those coming illegally across the Southern border. That is, of course, a major factor. But, as pointed out above, it is not the only major factor.

Trump has a feud with everyone. Except the Clintons.

You basically want to disqualify any conservative from commenting on Trump because they don't like liberals. This is Obama all over again. His supporters demand he be completely unvetted.

Interestingly, Trump and Sanders and Cruz are the only ones in the race I see as honest.

Jonah exhibiting TDS as well. Guess he didn’t feel it necessary to write an article stating that Hillary and Jeb agree on way too much...

Yup.

They are both nationalists.

I have said repeatedly that I would vote for Sanders before Bush or Rubio - the nation is that important to me.

I know you don’t like Trump. I am not trying to sway your opinion.

I am just stating that Jonah and Trump had a twitter argument last year so you can’t expect Jonah to be unbiased.

BAD HEADLINE

The article didn’t talk about anything other than immigration. And even that it didn’t really say how they were alike.

I agree. They left the majority of what Trump & Sanders agree on. Good point.
