Incidentally, this is a step forward for the nullification movement.
The Feds are *technically* correct in their assertion that when a state denies Medicaid funding to Parts Procurement, they are going against federal law.
But if states go ahead and do it anywise, they’re effectively *nullifying* federal law. What are the feds going to do, send in the 82nd airborne to arrest state legislators and governors that refuse to fund PP? Don’t think so. If that extreme case ever were to happen, I’d imagine the backlash would be pretty severe and immediate.
The only recourse the Feds would have would be to cut off the Medicaid funds in toto. Which shrinks government and loosens the FedGov’s grip on these states through the “money strings,” which means it’s a win-win for us, and a catch-22 for the FedGov.
I’m pleasantly surprised NH is in there.
