Judicial Watch: State Department Did Not Provide Secure BlackBerry to Hillary Clinton
Judicial Watch ^ | August 19, 2015 | Tom Fitton

Posted on 08/19/2015 12:21:26 PM PDT by jazusamo

(Washington, DC ) – Judicial Watch announced that the State Department asserts in its most recent filing with the court the State Department did not issue personal computing devices to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and possibly destroyed the Blackberries of her aides Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills:

[The State Department] does not believe that any personal computing device was issued by the Department to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and has not located any such device at the Department. [The State Department] believes that Ms. Mills and Ms. Abedin were each issued BlackBerry devices. [The State Department] has not located any such device at the Department … Because the devices issued to Ms. Mills and Ms. Abedin would have been outdated models, in accordance with standard operating procedures those devices would have been destroyed or excessed.

State did identify the “state.gov” email accounts of Mills, Abedin and two other former officials, but stated that Clinton “did not use a state.gov account.”

The filing follows the recent court order granting Judicial Watch’s request for a hearing this week, on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 12:00 p.m., which had previously been scheduled for September. State recently sought a one-week extension from the court, and the judge denied it (the court changed the time of the hearing to 1 p.m.)

“The questions just keep popping up. Every time the State Department tries to justify its stonewalling, one more bit of information arises,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “If the State Department was not providing secure email devices to Mrs. Clinton, who was? Best Buy? Target? Mrs. Clinton clearly did whatever she wanted, without regard to national security or federal records keeping laws.”

The developments come in a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that seeks records about the controversial employment status of Huma Abedin, the former Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ( Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:13-cv-01363)). The lawsuit was reopened because of revelations about Hillary Clinton’s email records.

Hillary Clinton’s personal BlackBerry less secure
It could not have been as secure as the department phones issued to her subordinates, experts say.
By Joseph Marks

EXCERPT

The most important component for BlackBerry security is the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, a piece of “middleware” that encrypts email and securely connects other applications with the BlackBerry handset, making it significantly more secure than the basic BlackBerry an average consumer might buy. These systems are typically bought by organizations but can also be bought — at great expense — by individuals or families with major security concerns.

A spokesman for Clinton declined several times to say whether the former secretary employed such an enterprise server during her tenure. In the past, her office has said making details of her email security public would aid hackers. “Robust protections were put in place,” according to a statement earlier this month, and “third party experts” were consulted and employed.
Perciballi also cited the enterprise server as a key component to any fully secure system.

“My first question would be was she using a [BlackBerry Enterprise] Server,” he said. “If so, that would be 80 percent better.”

ATTN Judicial Watch and others: Think big picture here. You want to find who supplied Hillary a Server and personal device...

Remember back in the Clinton Presidency they were so cheap they claimed a deduction for donating bill’s used underwear to charity.

If you want to know where she got these pieces of electronics just check her tax forms for work related expenditures during her time at State. Guarenteeed she claimed the deduction

It should bother every law abiding tax paying Constitutional loving American that politicians that take our wealth, make our laws, and run a govt intended to serve all the citizenry competently, equally, and with honesty lacks common sense. Sorry I see common sense far beyond politics as my primary priority and far beyond the labels that pols cast of left or right.

I blame corruption and both Parties and their enablers as the absurd bias that takes common sense out of the decision process.

Repeat - “they” and the govt elites that run both Parties do not serve we the people and we the citizens of the USA competently.

We can argue which Party serves us best or least, but the reality is neither Party serves us average law abiding Americans with equality, justice and honesty.

It makes me chuckle every time I think about Hillary! actually doing yoga. Aren’t you supposed to be somewhat fit and limber to take those classes, or at least lose a few pounds after (supposedly) 4 years of classes?

i’d be willing to bet money that Hillary will never be touched by any sort of criminal finding regarding her email escapade. there are too many folks willing to cover for her, and BHO et al appear to be complicit in allowing her to escape retribution. i wish that i am proved wrong, but the Clintons are as slippery as the current occupant of the WH is in terms of paying any price for their misdeeds.

It’s going to be funny if it comes out that Snowden is the one who hacked Hillary’s account and gave all the info to the Russians. She asked for it. And I can just see Putin laughing his butt off while reading them.

And we would never have known this had it not been for Snowden. He warned American citizens of what was going on and said his biggest fear was apathy from the people. And that’s what happened except for a few of us here on FR.

State has deadlines to turn over a certain amount of emails each month. At presser last week state was asked about being in contempt because they would not meet deadline. State spokesman said oh well too bad. Judge will just have to accept it.

I agree. I also think, with Palmier’s statement, that they’re setting Huma up to take the big fall for sending classified info to Hillary (the unwitting), plus Huma has other issues involving the overpayment, conflict of interest, etc. If I were Huma, I’d be getting some top-notch attorneys. She’s lawyered up, but one of them is a former Clinton aide .... she should be very nervous about that, IMO.
