A black delivery driver was told by his manager that he would not be making a delivery because the customer had said she only wanted a white driver in her house.
Marcus Bradley, an African American, who has worked for Lowe's Home Improvement for the last 11 years, was left devastated after his manager complied with the customer's outrageous wish.
The shocking incident reportedly happened in the city of Danville, situated in the US state of Virginia.

I don’t agree with what this customer did (she should have been told to come pick up her refund and to shop elsewhere), but it sounds to me like the DRIVER is the one who gave her address or personal information to the media. He should be fired for that if he did.

A racial discrimination suit costs way more than one lost customer. Anyone who doesn’t grasp this intuitively is too stupid to be a manager.
Fear of black violent crime: It is a valid concern.
The manager should have quietly switched drivers.
If you consider the high rate of black on white crime (particularly against white females) perhaps she is more prudent than racist. Marcus needs to open his eyes to “Black Privilege” and the predominant culture of “Black Racism”.

There was NO REASON to tell this driver ANYTHING!!!! Could have simply stated customer requested so and so to make the delivery!!!!

Case in point, DirecTV installers are contracted by the company and they come from all over the place, not just “local installers”.
I have made them stand outside the window, telling me what buttons to push, etc, rather then letting them inside.
And the whole time, the Dobes were in the room, looking out, watching their every move.
I don’t give a flying flip what “color” some stranger is.
The issue is that they *are* a stranger.
Anybody who is half awake and aware has read news stories of burglaries done by “deliverymen” who came back later, when no one was home.

I think the movie you’re thinking of is “Bustin’ Loose” with Richard Pryor, 1981. A little different than the somewhat raunchier fare that Richard was usually in. Those movies he an Gene Wilder did were hilarious.
Why wasn’t her order just assigned to another truck? Or if the manager gave a damn he could have taken a Lowe’s loaner truck and delivered it himself.
I smell the odor of a racist manager who took great pleasure in dumping the crap news on the black driver. I hope he cleans them out real good.
Why are the white biyotch’s feelings any more sacred than the loyal, conscientious 11 year driver’s feelings. This also involves his livelihood. I hope he gets a lawyer meaner than a junkyard rottweiler! Damn that frosts me!
If you make your purchases randomly, you may not be able to control who comes to your house. On the other hand, one ignores Justice Department statistics at one’s peril.
I am a registered nurse and black,too. I have taken care of old white folks that say slightly borderline things such as “you’re pretty smart...for a colored gal” or “where are you from, your grammar is so good”..(guess my Bachelor’s of Science is working}. I cannot say I am devastated when those things happen. I would have thought of it as just one less a$$hole to deal with.
Stupid of Lowes to fire a manager - it was a lose/lose situation. I have a news flash for some clueless people: some white women are terrified of feral blacks, particularly if they are alone. It might seem irrational, but it is a fear that predates the Civil War and still continues down to this day because of hostility exhibited by a radical, sizable minority of young black hoodlums. You don’t have to be okay with that, but you should at least understand why the paranoia exists. The racial hate is reported on national TV news nearly every day, fanning the flames. Is it any wonder that some people are uneasy?
If one of her friends has been murdered by a WHITE person would she have asked that ONLY a black person be sent to deliver her item? Or “please only send an Asian with my new washing machine please”? Doubtful.
She is just an old bitter racist that should repent before she meets her maker as any racist (black or white) should.
