Conservatives Furious at Fox, Say Trump Wasn't Treated Fairly

Fox News is facing a backlash from conservatives after critics felt the network was biased and unfair in the manner it approached the forum for the Republican presidential candidates' debate Thursday, and namely, Donald Trump.

According to Media Equalizer, tens of thousands of observers swamped social media with criticism of Fox and the moderators, with some comments attracting more than 2,000 "likes."

"This was shameful. You and Fox News did not treat the candidates fairly. You tried to make Donald J. Trump look foolish. All you did was make Fox News look foolish."

"Donald J. Trump still has my vote," said one post which appeared on the network's Facebook page and received over 2,200 "likes" just two hours after it was posted.

Another post representative of the sentiment was addressed to Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly and Fox News. It said the two "should be ashamed of themselves for their unfair demeanor towards Donald Trump. They apparently had their own agenda. Trump still did his thing though! #Trump2016"

"Megyn, you're an embarrassment to journalism. I wanted to watch a presidential debate, not a hit job by you and Fox," another observer wrote.

Twitter was also flooded with criticism of Kelly and Fox.

"Tonight's debate loser: Fox News," said one post.

"#GOPDebate NOT A DEBATE! It's @FoxNews vs @realDonaldTrump! What a disgrace! @magynkelly & @BretBaier shameful! #tcot," said another.

"WTF @FoxNews ???????? THIS DEBATE IS A SETUP TO SLAM EVERYBODY EXCEPT JEB BUSH. YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED AT THIS JOURNALISTIC DISHONESTY," yet another poster commented.

For his part, Trump lashed out at Kelly on his Twitter page.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Trumpette. I just think it's ridiculous to be freaking out this early when at some point, either a good candidate will rise up and overshadow him, or he'll shoot himself out the sky without anyone's help. (I mean come on, he's repetitive already and he's been at this, what? two months?) But just the fact that the so-called "right-wing media" has completely lost their minds and decided to pull the pin and splatter brain matter everywhere (including their own) has been soooo revealing that I think we are actually getting a lot more information than we would have been receiving if Trump had not made it this far.

The curtain has been pulled back on the Wizard. That alone has been worth the price of admission, IMO. I will NOT vote for Jeb and I think the 3M who refused to vote for Romney would become 10M who will refuse to vote for another Bush.

And Trump said the favor was that the Clinton’s would attend his wedding, yup, looks like they did. That photo is over 10 years old....hmmm?...was he running for president them? Or any political office?

How old is the Bush photo? Listen, Bush has been lining his ducks up in a row for some time. No way should they all look so peachy in that photo. Everyone knows Jarrett does NOT have anything to do with people that don’t forward her agenda, period. The FNC connection is just as worrisome, IMO.

Yes they are. They know many conservatives are self haters and self doubters and they play to that.

Trump was honest. Love him or hate him he is who his is and likes himself. I’m personally glad he is in the race even though I’m not supporting him in the primary (I support Cruz). The GOP-E needs to have a gun to their head to do the right thing and Trump is that gun. Right now he is interfering with the grand Jeb Bush Coronation and he is taking the hits.

Exactly. Have the Republicans ever had this much interest in their primary? Hell no.

. . . he is who his is and likes himself . . .
that much is indisputably true. what is in dispute is whether or not he is good for the cruz candidacy, which (after scott walker) I support.

I also like Scott Walker. Cruz and Walker are my top two. I’ve been paying attention. The Jeb Bush types are the most worried about Trump and I’ll be happy to keep them worried a bit longer. :-)

Yes, Trump is establishment. That’s why they’re attempting to destroy him, right? (Major sarcasm)

Just an ugly price to pay for doing business in New York. Fiorina also donated to the Clinton foundation and is receiving money from Univision. Why not go after her?

FYI, I’m planning to vote for Cruz. I support Trump, though, for his Political Incorrectness and for his bravery to tell the hard truth. I love that he offends the right people. He uses Alinsky tactics and I love that. So do many other Americans, according to the polls. I just don’t understand this vicious hatred some people on this board have for Trump.

Except, they aren't trying to destroy him. They are giving him all the ammo he needs to destroy the conservative movement. Trump is doing what they have been unable to do for years.

Trump is socially liberal. And fiscally he's even farther to the left. And, he's actually gotten "conservatives" to cheer for amnesty.

Why won’t I just understand that Donald Trump is a conservative hero? It’s a big mystery.

It is pretty simple for me. I yearn for a President that does not lick his finger and hold it up into the wind with every decision he faces.

Politicians do that — Trump does not.

President Reagan made his own decisions, was a Democrat for many years and made a few mistakes even as President. I'm willing to trust Trump because I can see what I'll get. Even if he is out only for himself he will float all of our boats. I believe he will make America great again. He will stand toe-to-toe against our enemies and they will finally be the ones to blink, instead of a President with no fortitude that kowtows or genuflects to petty potentates and princes.

megyn thought she was Edward R. Murrow—set to take down Joe McCarthy on Live TV-—”Have you no shame, sir?” Sorry, Trump isn’t Tail Gunner Joe, and Megyn, you aint no Edward R. Murrow. You did your best with Faux Outrage to sink Trump who was caught off guard and didn’t do well. But, you hit others as well with your caustic words. And whats with having Debbie Wasserman Schultz on? Megyn —by herself, restarted the Faux “War on Women”—She gave that to Hillary as a weapon to beat up the GOP—what did Schultz say? Why didn’t the other MEN on stage defend women!!!—Megyn better have a White House Office in Hillarys adminestration—and her own show on CNN. BUT, Megyn beware—Trump has a long memory and he will get his revenge.
