On Saturdays Up with Steve Kornacki on MSNBC, former Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius reacted to GOP presidential hopeful John Kasichs comments from the debate on Medicaid where he said:
You should know that President Reagan expanded Medicaid three or four times. Secondly, I had an opportunity to bring resources back to Ohio. To do what? To treat the mentally ill. Ten thousand of them sit in our prisons. It costs $22,500 a year to keep them in prison. I would rather get them their medication so they can lead a decent life.

Liberals have lost all right to use the word moral. They are the ones who said morality doesn’t matter.

I suggest it will cost the taxpayers a hell of a lot more than 22K/year if we release all these yahoos from prison. At least there they receive decent care and a place to live.

If you think about lifting people up, providing healthcare so they dont go bankrupt if they get sick, they can have access to mental healthcare, which John Kasich talked about or primary healthcare or make sure they can take care of their kids and their family and they become productive workers. So is it morally wrong to take the money from one man at the point of a gun to lift up another man for whatever reason?
Sorry I do not buy in to the Robin Hood principle.
Charity is the work of individuals and not government.

So taking them out of prison as a practical matter means that they will not be getting mental healthcare.

Reagan also warned that costs needed to be kept under control, of course this liberal moron doesn't tell the whole story.

Hmm. Sebelius an Kasich said “Medicaid” (which is state-level and any age), but that says “Medicare”, which is federal and seniors. Liberals can’t keep their lies straight.

They all like to blame Reagan for the crazies on the street when it was the ACLU that sued to release them and congress that legislated to pick up costs that were then being forced on the state. All Reagan did was to believe Congress when he cut that part of the state budget. Liberals, can’t tell the truth and you can’t euthanise them.
