Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and Rand Paul are in. Donald Trump is out.
A total of 14 candidates will participate in the Voters First Republican Presidential Forum on Monday, Aug. 3, at St. Anselm College. The two-hour forum, intended to highlight the importance of the first-in-the-nation primary, along with the Iowa caucuses and South Carolinas early primary.
I am in the North Country today, Bush said Thursday, meeting with voters about my message of reforming the culture in Washington. Im looking forward to participating in the August 3rd forum. Its clear it is a great opportunity to engage with Granite Staters about the important issues confronting the nation.
The forum came into being after Fox News was heavily criticized for limiting the first sanctioned TV debate to 10 candidates based solely on national polling. Republicans in Iowa,New Hampshire, and South Carolina all wrote letters protesting the polling criteria, but Fox hasnt budged. However, it has moved up to a 5 p.m. start a second forum for lower-polling candidates. It is unclear how many will attend. The Fox events are in Cleveland, but that states governor,John Kasich, may not make the top tier for the primetime debate.
The Voters First Forum is being co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Union Leader, the Charleston, S.C., Post and Courier, and the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gazette. Broadcast co-sponsors are iHeart radio, KCRG-TV, Cedar Rapids;and WLTX-TV in Columbia, S.C. The forum will be broadcast nationally by C-SPAN. New England viewers will be able to watch on NECN. It will be broadcast locally by NH1/WBIN-TV in New Hampshire, as well as by the South Carolina and Iowa stations. It will also air live on NHPR.
Candidate Trump bowed out because, an aide said, he was upset with a Union Leader editorial this week that mocked him for saying that U.S. Sen. John McCain was not a war hero.

The Trumpettes will explain this away as “business logic.” After all, to reach the level of awesomeness The Donald has, he had to adopt certain policy positions to make all those business deals happen in NJ and NY. All business, you know. That’s the story and they’re sticking to it.
One where the moderator has already expressed a bias against him? Trump may well be better off letting the dwarfs scramble to impress while he analyzes their performance and finds their weaknesses.
Maybe when he gets to be president he can pull the same thin-skinned, self-pity act and not talk to the press unless they’re fawning. Oh, wait a minute, yet another trait he and Obama have in common.
"Sen. Rubio: It is vital every candidate attend Voters First Forum"
Well not really crash and burn Marco.
The 'war hero' recently BLOCKED an amendment that would have allowed the men like those killed in Chattanooga to carry firearms. McCain is scum.
Trump will go third party because the Republican Party can’t run a two car parade. To let that throw-away Democrat state of NH this much clout just to give their pathetic Bush a good start is typical. The Dems are so fortunate to have no competition again this election.

The Donald is better than this cattle call!!! Because he is, THE DONALD!!! Need you ask?!
Trump, Walker, either one is fine by me, But I will not vote for anyone wearing an Apple watch
New Hampshire was an awesomely solid Republican state in 1992
No, that would keep the RINOs from gaining traction.
I’m with you! I won’t be watching it.
Well said :)
>>>> Trump walked away
True.
But if the organizers want people to pay attention to their ‘show’, they have to include Trump.
Open Border/Amnesty Walker, no thanks, no vote just another RINO.
Trump has long held liberal positions, so I do not follow your logic.
If you're not watching because Trump has decided not to be quizzed, you need a primer on narcissism.
Trump will tell you how "amazing" you are because you fawn over him and all his money and his pronouncements. But the second you lose your ardor for him, or question him, your usefulness to him is over and he will turn on a dime and hit out at you and demand that everyone who wants to bask in his great light, must turn against you too.
No, they took McCains side and hammered Trump like the rest of the establishmedia. He is standing up to them.
Pray America is waking
Trump was invited but he bowed out of the debate because he got his tightie whities in a wad over an editorial in the New Hampshire Union Leader that criticized him on his statement that McCain was not a war hero. Whether one agrees with that or not is another matter but I was more offended by the I like people who dont get captured OK? statement.
FWIW, the New Hampshire Union Leader isnt the only sponsor of the debate.
What are they supposed to do, force him to attend? Or maybe they could roll out a special red carpet and give Trump a gold plated podium and have a former bikini clad Miss USA contestant moderate, just to entice and make Trump feel more welcomed to attend. : ) ,
