Donald Trump today took lots of shots at John McCain, includingmost shockinglythe fact that he was a prisoner of war while serving in Vietnam Trumps been feuding with McCain after McCain said Trump is firing up the crazies with his outlandish rhetoric, and Trump fired back by calling McCain a dummy. Trump sat down on stage with pollster Frank Luntz at the Family Leadership Summit and continued to fire back at McCain (while still bragging about the crowd he drew because thats his modus operandi).

THE TRUE MILITARY RECORD OF JOHN MCCAIN WRITTEN BY AN ACTIVE MARINE.
9/03/08
McCain has never really earned anything. He is from a wealth pampered background and not fit to lead this nation.
A war hero doesnt finished 894th out of 899 and still get stationed at a Navy champagne unit and promoted ahead of all but two of his 898 other classmates.
A war hero doesnt crash three U.S. Navy jets out of sheer incompetence and ineptitude, including two during non-combat training sessions.
A war hero doesnt get written up on drunk-and-disorderly, fraternization, disobeying orders, and insubordination charges more than two dozen times in less than three years.
A war hero doesnt get promoted to squadron commander of the air field named after his own grandfather immediately after crashing his third airplane. A war hero doesnt have all the military records that cover his time in Vietnam and all disciplinary actions against him censored and sealed as a matte r of national security. A war hero doesnt get 28 medals awarded all after-the-fact for bravery for no other reason than being shot down and captured and then go on a celebrity public relations tour because hes the son of two acclaimed Navy admirals. A war hero doesnt repeatedly cheat on the wife whos back in the states waiting for him, and then cheat on her more when he returns to the states, and then divorce and abandon her.
A war hero doesnt systematically vote against every single pay and benefit increase for military and veterans throughout his entire political career, all the while claiming to be the soldiers Congressman, and then take credit for the passage of a G.I. benefits bill he that voted AGAINST. A war hero McCain III lost jet number one in 1958 when he plunged into Corpus Christi Bay while practicing landings. He was knocked unconscious by the impact coming to as the plane settled to the bottom. McCains second crash occurred while he was deployed in the Mediterranean. Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula, Timberg wrote, he took out some power lines [reminiscent of the 1998 incident in which a Marine Corps jet sliced through the cables of a gondola at an Italian ski resort, killing 20] which led to a spate of newspaper stories in which he was predictably identified as the son of an admiral.
McCains third crash three occurred when he was returning from flying a Navy trainer solo to Philadelphia for an Army-Navy football game. Timberg reported that McCain radioed, Ive got a flameout and went through standard relight procedures three times before ejecting at one thousand feet. McCain landed on a deserted beach moments before the plane slammed into a clump of trees. McCains fifth loss happened during his 23rd mission over North Vietnam on Oct. 26, 1967, when McCains A-4 Skyhawk was shot down by a surface-to-air missile. McCain ejected from the plane breaking both arms an d a leg in the process and subsequently parachuted into Truc Bach Lake near Hanoi. For 23 combat missions (an estimated 20 hours over enemy territory), the U.S. Navy awarded McCain a Silver Star, a Legion of Merit for Valor, a Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Stars, two Commendation medals plus two Purple Hearts and a dozen service medals. McCain had roughly 20 hours in combat, explains Bill Bell, a veteran of Vietnam and former chief of the U.S. Office for POW/MIA Affairs the first official U.S. representative in Vietnam since the 1973 fall of Saigon. Since McCain got 28 medals, Bell continues, that equals out to about a medal-and-a-half for each hour he spent in combat. There were infantry guys grunts on the ground who had more than 7,000 hours in combat and I can tell you that there were times and situations where Im sure a prison cell would have looked pretty good to them by comparison
The question really is how many guys got that number of medals for not being shot down. For years, McCain has been an unchecked master at manipulating an overly friendly and biased news media. The former POW turned Congressman, turned U.S. Senator, has managed to gloss over his failures as a pilot by exaggerating his military service and lying about his feats of heroism. McCain has sprouted a halo and wings to become Americas POW-hero presidential candidate.
This article was written by an active, unnamed Marine. It was published by Gale Toensing founder of the Corner Report.com and she sent it to me. It is a true account of McCains real war record and evidence of his lack of fitness for the office of President.
Quite different than everyone acts like. “maybe he is a hero, but he said a lot of bad things about a lot of people”.
And besides, McCain is not a hero. He has undermined and betrayed the investigation into POWs left behind in Vietnam and Laos.
He alone used his POW status to betray the hundreds left behind. He used that status as a credibility tool.
Traitor.
Does anyone dispute those facts or that it is heroic?
The exact same thing can be said for Trump, word for word. But McCain did risk his life for his country.
An air hero doesn’t get passed up for promotion for his years in captivity as a POW either.
As I understand it, McCain didn’t get his promotions.
Why?
This is an old site, that isn’t too professionally done.
I provide a link to what’s left of it. I don’t endorse all of it, but I do think it provides enough information, folks should take a look.

Here’s a link to the information I turned up in 2008.

Well what he went through as a captive is one thing, there’s some question about those POW’s that were left behind he said nothing about.
23 combat missions and 6 years in the Hanoi Hilton hell hole.
That’s more than I’ve sacrificed for Uncle Sam.
Are you aware McCain participated in 30 propaganda videos for the North?
Are you aware he admitted in an interview that he bartered top secret classified information for medical care?
Are you aware some folks think our pilots died and the effective delivery routes used by our pilots was compromised, due to him revealing information?
Are you aware that POWs get promotions just like active duty members of our military, but the Pentagon refused to give John mcCain his promotions? Do you know why?
He betrayed his fellow P.O.W.s at the Hanoi Hilton.
Now what was that about him being a hero???
Think Im full of it? See the post from Jim Robinson,

The problem is that the word “hero” has been stretched way out of proportion since 9/11. Audie Murphy was a hero. Howard Gilmore was a hero. Alvin York was a hero. They did things that were way beyond the call of duty.
Today, we call police dogs heroes. Every person in a uniform is a hero. People who just do their job (as long as it is the right kind of job) are automatically heroes. Going on a dangerous mission and continuing the mission when it gets hairy is just doing the job, but with the right PR campaign, you can become a hero. See John F Kennedy and the Hollywood PT109 story for details.
McCain did his job. He continued the mission. He got shot down and performed heroically as a POW. But so did Admiral James Stockdale (who received the MOH for his heroism), and the leftist media had no problem with ripping his war record to shreds. But since McCain is their pet Republican, his record cannot be questioned. We must all accept the press release version as put out by the McCain spokesman.
Benedict Arnold was initially a hero until he turned to the “dark” side.
Phhhht. McCain is a dirty goy.
Please see post 11.

Well, first of all, that was AFTER he risked his life for his country. That's why he ended up a prisoner.
As to his behavior as a prisoner, yes, it was bad. But that's nothing new. Some prisoners are heroic. But not all of them are. China developed highly effective methods of brainwashing during the Korean War. it would be nice if none of our service men were vulnerable to that, but unfortunately that's not possible. We put these people in risky circumstances and some of them are going to crack. It's nothing to be proud of, but we have to accept some will break. McCain was tortured and given poor medical care. Would anyone want to change places with him.
The fact is he completed his mission at the risk of his life and/or freedom. He was imprisoned for over five years for his country. He was offered to be released because of who his father was and declined, because of the propaganda it would give the communists.
This is bigger than just McCain. There were plenty of others in similar circumstance in that and other wars.
I deplore McCain's treatment of veterans, but attacking his service is no way to rectify what he did.
