Here are several better ideas:
Total elimination of gun free zones.
Protect soft targets and allow the military to carry sidearms anywhere.
(I live near a base and sometimes 40-50 cars are in line at the gate with drivers, waiting to get in and go to work.
Constitutional carry.
Classic diversionary tactic. Don’t look at that, look over here at this thingy instead,

The local fishwap here in ATL mentions “domestic terrorism” in the first paragraph while never mentioning Islam.
