One GOP donor wants to block Donald Trump from the debate stage [John Jordan]

Worried about "Republican-on-Republican violence," top party donors are taking action, with one firing off a letter calling for more civility and another seeking to block businessman Donald Trump from the debate stage altogether.

Foster Friess, a Wyoming-based investor and one of the party's top 20 donors in the last presidential contest, issued a letter to 16 White House prospects and the Republican National Committee late last week calling for candidates to stay on the "civility reservation."

"Our candidates will benefit if they all submit to Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment, 'Thou shall not speak ill of a fellow Republican,'" Friess wrote in a letter sent to Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus. A copy was obtained by The Associated Press.

Republican donor John Jordan said Monday that GOP leaders should take steps to block Trump's access to the first presidential debate in early August.

Debate organizers at Fox News Channel, backed by the Republican National Committee, have released guidelines saying the top 10 candidates in national polling will be allowed to participate. Trump would qualify under the current terms, while contenders such as Ohio's two-term Gov. John Kasich would not.

"Someone in the party ought to start some sort of petition saying, 'If Trump's going to be on the stage, I'm not going to be on there with him,'" Jordan told the AP on Monday. "I'm toying with the idea of it."

:: ‘If Trump’s going to be on the stage, I’m not going to be on there with him,’” Jordan told the AP on Monday. ::

Ummmm, so has Jordan declared for POTUS? What is this CRAP denying he won’t “be on the stage”...”with him”?

Maybe Herr Jordan is a bit overcome with his perceived influence in the Pubbie-party?
Methinks Trump doesn’t need, nor does he care, about Jordan’s ^contributions^ to the Pubbie-party.

Why don’t people try to get Mr. Friess’ comments on what happened in San Francisco? How about also seeking out and doing the same with these other wealthy investor class types who hide behind the scenes but seem to like using the taxpayer as their credit card and cry foul over someone like Trump finally speaking the truth? Very cowardly ploy on Mr. Friess’ part.

Unless he’s willing to come up with maybe 300 million dollars or so - he’s not serious.

Because they are all part of the Washington Cartel - which has branch offices on Wall Street, San Fran, Chicago, Detroit, and a number of other places.

The Washington Cartel does not WANT the truth to enter into any discussion.

Dunno, but he has the same respect for free speech and the marketplace of ideas as the progressives do.

My guess is he's someone who likes the idea of cheap, illiterate labor.

Precisely!
Have been hunting for straw polls etc all morning to support Trump. He may not get my actual primary vote but I DO SUPPORT TRUTH. The person I eventually vote for will do the same. So far Bush and Perry have been eliminated

I predict he’ll not be in it for the long term - for a number of reasons - but I also predict his impact will be NET POSITIVE by a long shot, and it will redound to the benefit of my favored candidate.

Seems to me that locking Trump out of the debates could push trump to a run as a third party candidate. Trump, if anyone, has the resources to do this...

Are they afraid that he is going to make himself look stupid, of make the GOP-E candidate look stupid? I guess we know the answer to that.

I think that Trump/Cruz would be the perfect team.

An unbeatable team that could guide America for 16 years, and beyond.

No way is Trump going to bow out. Does anyone think that someone so focused on being a winner could even CONSIDER dropping out now, and go down in history as a LOSER?

Hernando Cortez burnt his ships on the shores of Mexico, thereby committing him and his troops to win or die.

Trump has burnt his ships on the shores of America, and he’s now totally committed to fight to the death.

It’s going to be an epic battle, watch closely, we’ll never get to see something so exciting, so American, again in our lifetimes.

We are living in an historical moment. Alert your family and friends, they’ll want to watch, or perhaps even volunteer to be part of it.
