Confederate flag not burned in Hernando after protesters confronted

A confrontation described as heated but non-violent thwarted a planned burning of the Confederate flag by demonstrators Saturday in Brooksville.

A few hundred counter-protesters — many carrying Confederate and American flags — showed up at the steps of the Hernando County courthouse to cut short a rally in which organizers denounced “rampant white racist violence.”

Organizers of the protest included the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, a St. Petersburg group of white people under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party, which seeks reparations for black Americans.

As about a dozen people protested, they became greatly outnumbered by a pro-Confederate flag crowd that shouted “Go Home” and recited the Pledge of Allegiance in unison. One person described the group as calm.

Images and video of the confrontation were posted on social media.

The banner has become of flashpoint in recent days, when a shooting massacre at a historic black church in South Carolina triggered a movement to remove the flag from that state’s Capitol grounds. Since then, several major retailers announced they would no longer carried merchandise depticting the flag.

Supporters say it represents Southern heritage and honors relatives who fought for the Confederate states in the Civil War. Those against the flag say it represents slavery, a primary reason for secession and the war, and black oppression.

The only things that burned were the peeling tires of the cars the demonstrators came up in when they realized the good folks of Brooksville weren't going to take their sh!t and high-tailed it out of town. It was a ragtag bunch of usual suspects Black Uhuru, some Jew-hating Pali symps, and the Tampa "new"SDS (really no different than the old SDS which spawned Bill Ayers, Bernie Dhorn and the Weather Underground). Being that they're the closet racists I've long suspected, it came as no surprise to me that not ONE Black person was in this group, but their were a few who showed up in support of the flag. Also true-to-form, their spokesfreak denied coming up to Brooksville to burn the flag, even though the SDS put up a FB page, Burn the Confederate flag in Brooksville specifically for that purpose. The page mysteriously disappeared a few hours ago. Isn't that special? BTW, many of those who stood up to these a**holes, some 25 years earlier gave some kkk morons the same treatment. So who's the racists?

I was going to say that was really stupid of socialists and such people from St. Pete to go to Hernando of all places- Hernando is home of the Brooksville raid reenactment and a ton of history buffs will not take kindly to this Talibanlike attack on historic artifacts and items.

The African Peoples Socialist Party is a phonebooth organization that only has a handful of black Marxists in it, but it attaches itself to larger protest movements and makes a lot of signs.

Almost no one knows who is in this organization, but it has been affiliated with N’COBRA, the overall black Marxists reparations movement and the “Black Liberation Day’ celebrations that Stokely Carmichael and the Communist Party used to hold.

Basically they are racist losers but they can make enough of a stink that the media will pay attention to them despite the fact that they are insignificant jerks.

The Oakland faction of this group calls itself Uhuru House. They ran a Black Muslim bakery on Grove St in the 80s. These a-holes demanded the catering contract for a major fundraising event that was planned to promote making MLK’s birthday a national holiday. The event was to feature Bishop Desmond Tutu as speaker, music by Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, et al. But the promoter wouldn’t give the catering concession to the Uhurus, (because they’re a-holes) so they announced their intention to picket the “racist” “Zionist” event. Tutu wouldn’t cross any picket line, and pulled out, then Bruce and Stevie, and the highly publicized event to honor MLK (!!) was cancelled. Sabotaged because these shakedown artists didn’t get their cash.
