Currie Spices Up the Classroom Debate
Accuracy in Academia ^ | June 23, 2015 | Tony Perkins

Once upon a time, there was a teacher who undermined parents’ rights. Sound familiar? It should. This has become a common story in classrooms across America, as more liberal teachers latch on to kids’ books with homosexual themes. But for moms and dads in North Carolina, the news that their third graders were listening to gay fairy tales didn’t have the happy ending teacher Omar Currie hoped for.

A homosexual himself, the elementary school teacher thought the book King and King would encourage his class to treat others with respect. What he didn’t count on was the overwhelming feeling of disrespect parents felt when they weren’t consulted first. In the book, a crown prince rejects one princess after another until he falls in love with another man. The two marry, and the rest is supposedly history. Now, after a statewide controversy, Currie is history too. The teacher quit his job after weeks of backlash and district meetings. “I’m resigning because when me and my partner sat down and talked about it, we felt I wasn’t going to have the support I needed to move forward at Efland,” he said. “It’s very disappointing.”

Hours after he read the story to his class, Efland-Cheeks’s principal called Currie and asked for a meeting the next morning. Three parents had filed formal complaints, and within weeks, started a movement to remove the book from Orange County Schools completely. “When I read the story,” Currie admitted, “the reaction of parents didn’t come into my mind.” And that’s exactly the problem. If parents are going to entrust the moral and academic training of their children to government schools, then they need to be involved in what’s being taught. In this case, Currie took it upon himself to bypass families and introduce a controversial subject to eight-year-olds without even warning school officials.

As a result, 200 people turned out at a district meeting to demand the book be taken out of district classrooms. Twice, the committees voted to keep it. And while parents didn’t succeed in ousting King and King, they did manage to get a heads-up about what books are being taught. Under a new directive, teachers are required to submit a list of books teachers intend to read to students.

Fortunately in this case, school administrators were responsive to parents’ concerns. As David Parker will tell you, that’s not always the case. Back in 2004, he and his wife objected to the same book being read to his elementary school-aged son, and he was hauled off to jail for his objections! Like a growing number of moms and dads, the Parkers realized that it was time to consider other alternatives to public schools.

At some point, we have to step back and ask the question, “What is the purpose of school?” When did it stop being about the education of children and start becoming about political indoctrination?

Out of the closet - into the classroom.
Never thought I'd say this, but there was a good reason for keeping them "in the closet".

Question - if homosexuals are allowed to propagandize about homosexuality on the basis that its “education” - then why aren’t Christians allowed the same rights in schools to educate on their position?

“I’m resigning because when me and my partner sat down and talked about it

I'm even more upset they hired a teacher who doesn't know elementary grammar. It should have been "...my partner and I". The simple rule is to remove the "and my partner" and see if the sentence would be considered correct.

‘A homosexual himself, the elementary school teacher thought the book King and King would encourage his class to treat others with respect’

BS! He read the book to introduce his lifestyle to young children. People like this aren’t looking for respect, they are looking for young, malleable minds.

End teacher tenure, give complete control of the schools to locally elected school boards and allow parents who disagree with the local school board to set up separate charter schools.

A culture that promotes perversions and a vile use of the human body, for purposeless, meaningless sex, to children is a toxic culture. (Afghanistan with their boy harems).

Toxic cultures, just like the one that existed at the end of Rome (orgies with children) and the Weimar Republic (rampant homosexuality) will destroy the moral formation in a lot of children. They will grow up to be like the “Good German” when they are adults, no matter what their parents “thought”. They will be trained to love evil and ignore evil. There is no moral compass.

Wisdom is discerning between Good and Evil (Cicero). The Leftists lie and normalize evil and “tolerance” for evil. It has to be done in childhood to get the Billy Ayers and people who would love to see billions killed. They have to embed the irrational emotions in childhood.

The embedding of emotions in children/students within a peer group is extremely powerful as the Eddie Bernays’s knew in the 1920s and John Dewey did in the 1930s, (the socialist Humanist) so that they could actually “kill God” and Christian Ethics in one generation when they got total control of curricula like they did in Europe-— for their NWO where Good and Evil will be flipped-——to the Marxist, Satanic ethics where humans can be used as a Means to an End. If it “feels” good, it is “good”. Reason and Logic (Classical Education) was removed. Classical Education always gave a clear definition of Good and Evil-—and NEVER glorified evil, vile use of others. It condemned them in clear precise ways.

Truth is being blurred for the kids in public schools-—started in the 30s actually, but it got much worse by 1970 with “Sex Ed” to enlarge the Limbic area of the brain so that emotions will dominate the intellectual formation of our children Lukacs, the cultural Marxist invented Sex Ed to collapse Hungary in one generation. (He did).

They ARE promoting a “faith”—an evil, satanic one——all people are promotiong their “faith” in the classroom. That is the simple little Truth that the Leftists are hiding from the ignorant masses and WHY the public schools can never have the State control them. (JS Mill).

There are just two “faiths” that have been totally banned-—the Christian One (along with all US Traditions) and the Jewish one——all other faiths and gods and Satan and Luciferean are allowed to be embedded into children.

Classical Education was one that affirmed the belief and Ethic System of our Justice System (Christianity Ethics)——all other ethic systems are in defiance of the US “Justice” system-—the others use humans as a “Means to an End” which should be unconstitutional with Individual Natural Rights from God-—but which is literally a promotion of Marxism and Satanism and paganism.

Silly Bear... the simple rule today is if it makes you feel better to say "me and my partner," then it's okay.

If parents are going to entrust the moral and academic training of their children to government schools ... they have to expect the content will be purely what the government wants.

My son’s 6th grade teacher let it be known ahead to time that they would be reading a homo themed book in class for anti bullying week.

She was flabbergasted that I objected and exposed the homo agenda.
