BREAKING NEWS – Secretary of State John Kerry was flown to a Swiss hospital Sunday following a bike crash outside Geneva, where he had been holding nuclear talks with Iran’s foreign minister.
State Department spokesman John Kirby said Kerry likely suffered a leg injury in the accident. Kerry was in stable condition.
The accident occurred near Scionzier, France, outside the Swiss border. Paramedics and a physician were on the scene with his motorcade at the time.
Kerry was transported to Geneva’s main hospital HUG, where he was being evaluated, Kirby said. A paramedic traveling with his motorcade immediately examined Kerry after his bike apparently his a curb, causing the fall, Kirby said.
X-rays were being taken of Kerry’s right leg
It was unclear how long Kerry will be in the hospital four and what the accident means for the rest of his four-nation trip.

My guess though is that Mr. Mercat does not treat his work and family life as a distraction from bike riding and other sports; nor while doing so does he pose for a bevy of news cameras as if to tout his youthful fitness and vigor.
Indeed, Kerry’s accident happened while he was on his 162nd round of Iran talks in Europe. He spends more time meeting with Iranian FM Zarif than he does in the US these days!

I am a cyclists. I know how it is to hit the ground. I crashed once when the person in front of me cause a sudden move and we touched wheels and of course my front wheel stopped sending me down. I hit flat on the back of my head. Thank GOD for bike helmets. It I had not had it my head would have burst like a dropped watermelon. As it was, I was knocked out for about 15 or so seconds, and got a concussion from it. Scary stuff when you crash when rolling along at 20 MPH or so.
