Last week, Bloombergs Mark Halperin convened a focus group of Iowa Democrats to discuss Hillary Rodham Clinton. They were Ready for Hillary. Indeed, they were enthusiastic about the prospect. But when Halperin asked them to name an accomplishment of Hillary as secretary of state, they couldnt come up with one. Nor, for that matter, could they have named an accomplishment of Hillary as senator. Nor as first lady. Nor as Arkansan.....

Considering the fact that Bill Clinton and George Bush were both governors, I’d hate to think what Kristol thinks are “accomplishments”.
I have to say I agree with the premise. With the boomers (of course not all, no generalizations here) it seems to be more about feelings and appearances, rather than facts and difficult truths.
Turning a quick $100,000 profit on a cattle futures trade is an accomplishment. Isn’t it?
I think as much of Bill Kristol as I do Bill Clinton. He’d starve if he had to go out and actually work for a living.
Three socialist presidents is far too many.
ONE malignant lefty president is too many.
Hillary nails the Democrat Brain-dead voter.
"Not only am I qualified to president--having a vagina
real boobs, post-menopausal hot flashes, and all----
but there's so many people among my friends and
relatives who desperately need presidential pardons."
Considering that many of the dead in Nam were those Boomers who were not radicals, while the radicals went to the Ivory Tower and deferrals, I’d say the premise is correct.
That saddens me.
America needs to Cruz into a new generation of leaders.
Is BO a boomer? He grew up in Indonesia
Being born at the same time as Americas boomers is the least of the causes of the problems he is generating
Say what you will about Obama, but on paper, he had accomplishments: State & US Senator, Editor of Harvard Law Review... Clinton & Bush were governors. What more does Kristol want? The issue isn’t when they were born, or even their qualifications, it is their world view and their hatred of the US Constitution.
Are Gen-Xers any better? Anyone who predates the baby boom would be pretty damned old by now.
“Boomers” are those born during the period of 1946-1964. It is a gross overgeneralization to say that they all think the same way politically.
What Bill Kristol either does not understand or will not admit to is that the problem isn’t boomers. The problem is quality of leadership. Every four years we get a new twist on mediocrity in the Whitehouse. Either a mediocre/flawed Democrat or Republican.
The real problem is that the job of President of the US sucks. Its a crappy job that turns young men into old men and does not pay well. The best and brightest of this country do not want to squander their best years toiling in the Whitehouse.
Love him or hate him guys like Trump don’t want to be President because they have to leave their fantabulous lives to do a thankless job. Drag themselves and their families through constant exposure to the press and revelation of every small detail of their private lives.
So no its got nothing to do with Boomers. There are a lot of boomers who would be great Presidents its just that you and I don’t even know their names.
This is a most ridiculous article. The arguments he used to back up the premise, which is fallacious, are so pathetic that I won’t even attempt to analyze them.
Especially since Richard Nixon won 52% of the under 30 vote, and the under 30 year olds were the biggest supporters of the Vietnam war.
Clearly there is a disconnect between media created perceptions, and reality.
Failed Generation bump for later...
