In the American Conservative yesterday, Rod Dreher related the following story:
So, a Canadian Christian jeweler custom-made a pair of engagement rings for a lesbian couple, Nicole White and Pam Renouf, at their request. Later, when they found out that the jeweler personally opposes same-sex marriage, they went to pieces and demanded their money back. The couple now believes the rings they ordered will have been tainted by having been fashioned by jeweler Esau Jardon’s hands, given what impure thoughts he holds in his mind.
One could be forgiven for wondering how we are all supposed to keep up. Last month, as Indiana’s rather tame religious-freedom legislation was being torched by the mob, America’s more devout dissenters were informed that the price of participation in the marketplace was the subjugation of one’s conscience to one’s Caesar. “You can’t opt out of the law,” the agitators explained. “This isn’t the Jim Crow South!” Their core message? That if we all keep quiet about our views — and if we treat commercial transactions as commercial transactions — nobody will end up getting hurt. Or, put another way: “Cater my wedding, you bigot.”
In Dreher’s story, alas, the opposite case appears to obtain. “We can’t be expected to honor our contracts with companies that disagree with us,” the outraged couple is arguing, “for that might taint our nuptials.” The new message? That we can’t all get along by keeping quiet, but instead need to positively affirm one another or face the consequences. Or, put another way: “Even if I ask you to, don’t cater my wedding, you bigot.”

They got the merchandise they paid for...is there a problem here?
I read through the story a couple of times where I could stop the popups and clips from playing long enough to read. But I never did get that one question answered I wanted to:
“Exactly how did this ‘couple’ find out about the jeweler’s true feelings afterward.”
Tainted Rings? Fired and forged with bigoted EVIL in his heart? Do the rings whisper to them like Gollum? What?
Here are a couple more: Do a Schrodinger’s Cat run though:
“If there was evil afoot in the forging and they couldn’t perceive it in the rings, does the evil really exist?”
“If there is evil imbued, will returning them and getting compensated remove the evil they have suffered?
“If there is no ‘butt hurt’ because apparently Schrodinger evil can’t be seen, then is there cause?” and so on.....
It is about ideology (you will not only tolerate me, you will accept me, and you will love me)....Oh...and gimme money - lots of it.

The women told their friends about the jeweler and what a great experience they had. The friends then asked for some jewelry, but saw a sign in the shop that said the owners believed in traditional marriage.
They ordered the rings, then the jeweler posted a sign in his window opposing same-sex marriage, a friend of the couple saw it and called them, they came back and asked for their deposit back and got a refund. No courts involved.
These people are sick so this is not surprising.
I get products from an industrial company and each shipment comes with a little Christian pamphlet. Another company’s electronics catalog always comes with a Bible quote on the inside front cover. Not displayed in a prominent way, it’s just there along with the usual stuff about new products and the catalog index.
Maybe vendors of cakes, rings and the like should include something like a Bible verse or the like with their quotes and receipts.

Seems to me that his thoughts are perfectly normal but he was trying to be non-judgemental in serving his customers.
Of course, normal is not in the homo lobby’s vernacular.
Believing in traditional marriage is not something that says “I won’t serve gays.”
What would the lezzies think about any product they buy being touched by a so-called Bigot who thinks homosexuality is an unnatural act and a sin?
Frankly, this is still in the end about money. Those two need to get a life and leave people alone.
