Which is weirder: building a flat topped mountain out of mashed potatoes or an actor who until about four years ago was a left wing lunatic but is now writing a rational article for the conservative PJ Media? When your humble correspondent saw the name "Richard Dreyfuss" as the author of an article in PJ Media, he immediately thought it must be a writer with the same name as the actor. However, after scrolling down to the bottom of the story, imagine my surprise upon discovering that it was indeed the actor. Although Dreyfuss did display a refreshing moment of mental clarity last year on Fox News when he spoke out in favor of American Exceptionalism, it could have been written off as just a freak event. Apparently it seems to part of a learning curve.
In his PJ Media article, Dreyfuss starts out arguing for a better informed citizenry, especially the youth. Okay, that could be chalked up to just a standard good citizenship lecture but then Dreyfuss delivered an analysis sure to get him disinvited to many a Hollywood party chock full of liberals:
Some liberal Jews have begun to notice that Obama hates Israel and may even understand that he absolutely HATES Jews.
Come to the light Richard. Come to the light.
He’s worth $55 million. Perhaps he feels he doesn’t need the work anymore and can say what he really thinks.
Precisely. Anyone with one eye and a grain of sense can see by the way Obama has treated Israel and Netanyahu that he hates Jews.
Actor Richard Dreyfuss wrote this? Something that makes sense? That's not logical or possible - - someone must have had a gun to his head...

Dreyfuss has for years been interested in “teaching.” Not enough to get a teaching degree but he is fascinated by teachers and that profession. Perhaps, like the wonderful Ron Silver - he has seen the light. I hope.
When I read one of his article a few years ago I too thought it must just be a conservative writer who shares his name.
Good for him!!!! I didn’t know this.
My eyebrow raised upon reading his article.
At some point liberals will either have to see the light or side with muslims. There is no middle ground in Islam. The sooner they do, the better for us all.
I would imagine it’s harder for lifers like him to come around than many simply because they have a long life that they must internally reconcile has having been wrong/mistaken. Rarely one does. But with 60% of the country clinically insane, it would be 100,000 years before the rate of conversion benefited anyone enough to matter. And we are long, long gone before then.
And a robust Thomas Sowell-based course on economics added to the mix is even better.
Dreyfuss is most likely just scared of the Monster he helped create. As soon as the people he despises (Midwestern and Southern men) minimize the threat to him personally, Dreyfuss will happily return to again despising them. Dreyfuss and Spielberg are smarter than most Hollywood trash like Clooney, Damon, Affleck or Harrellson, so their actions are MUCH more evil. They remind me of Albert Speer; promoting evil with the full knowledge of what that evil entails.
Indiana Mike - So Dreyfuss has finally gotten scared that his 40 year effort to Liberalize and Socialize (except for HIS money) the Country is really working. Seems he has discovered that as a Jew, he and his family are teetering on the knife's edge and those Progressive Students he promoted have no morale aversion to actually KILLING him. So now he demonstrates a "foxhole conversion". YOUR judgement and YOUR actions created the type of people of which YOU are now so justly terrified, Mr. Dreyfuss!

Indiana Mike may be on to something . . .
I didn’t know he was Jewish........................

[snip] We have eviscerated our childrens education and unconsciously treat them as people we hate, denying them any excellence or agility of mind. Western kids are reportedly trying to join ISIS; why? Perhaps because the only spiritual movement being discussed in public, however ugly its ideology, is extremist Islam. Judeo-Christian spirituality seems pallid and disconnected; certainly Americans are no longer learning the secular faith of the Constitution, the musculature of republican democracy, its values of individual worth, its religious tolerance, its embrace of opportunity and merit.
