Baltimore police have continually said their initial reasoning for suspecting Freddie Gray of suspicious activity was his immediate running from police when bicycle officers made eye contact. However, no-one has revealed he ran into a building.
State Attorney Marilyn Mosby referenced the chase in her charging details:
Mosby Said: On April, 12 2015 between 8:45 and 9:15 a.m., near the corner of North Avenue and Mount Street. Lt. Brian Rice of the Baltimore Police Department while on bike patrol with Officer Garrett Miller and Edward Nero made eye contact with Freddie Carlos Gray Jr.
Having made eye contact with Mr. Gray, Mr. Gray subsequently ran from Lt. Rice.
Lt. Brian Rice then dispatched over departmental radio that he was involved in a foot pursuit at which time bike patrol officers Rice, Miller and Nero began to pursue Mr. Gray.

would anyone IN that building...or a janitor for that building assuming “Freddie” may have used a trash container in the building offer any evidence of what he may have “dropped off” inside?

"To the people of Baltimore and the demonstrators across America: I heard your call for No justice, no peace!!! Your peace is sincerely needed as I work to deliver justice on behalf of this young man. To those that are angry, hurt or have their own experiences of injustice at the hands of police officers I urge you to channel that energy peacefully as we prosecute (the law enforcement officers of the city in) this case I have heard your calls for No justice, no peace, however your peace is sincerely needed as I work to deliver justice on behalf of Freddie Gray. Last but certainly not least, to the youth of the city. I will seek justice on your behalf. Dis is a moment. Dis is YOUR moment. Lets insure we have peaceful and productive rallies that will develop structural and Syss..sys..systemic changes for generations to come. Youre at the forefront of this cause and as young people, OUR TIME IS NOW!!!!!!"

Probably dumped whatever he had inside the building. I wonder if the cops knew at the time that he’d entered the building.

I’ll take the other side on this one for now. So what if he did? Why did the cops chase him? Because he ran when they looked at him? Is that reason enough? I say no.

Still waiting to hear what the evidence is as presented in court before I form an opinion on this case.
If Mosby jumped the gun for political reasons, it will be a disaster in the long run because if there isn’t enough evidence to prove the charges, Baltimore (along with many other major urban areas) is going to explode like a ton of dynamite.

It may vary from area to area, but I was under the assumption that there were laws on the books making it at least a misdemeanor to evade police when approached for questioning when they have a reasonable suspicion that a crime may be about to, or is actively occurring.

My right to associate should include fleeing from .gov when nothing more than eye contact is made.
Secondly, nor should my deviation of navigation be suspect or my time wasted by .gov stopping me without just cause[life or death].

I say it is a reason. He was a known drug dealer! If he had drugs on him he would run from the police who recognized him for who he was! Running to avoid another arrest for drug dealing. And the police were very suspicious of him at that point!

"What should I do if a police officer stops me while Im walking down the street or driving in my car?" "Whatever you do, keep your cooldont run away and dont insult the officer. If you ignore the officers request to stop or if you become combative with the officer, you can be arrested."
