Great. Take a community full of drug dealing social parasites with rap sheets a mile long and give them more money. That should fix it.
They’ll all be scholars and preachers if they just had a little more money.

Anything meaningful over the long run is investment by businesses. The government dollars go to housing which is an incubator for gangs and more poverty, community “projects” which have been at best places to go and things to eat, and community organizers. Are you going to use your last pennies to build a market in this part of Baltimore? If you are on the board of a major corporation, will you rebuild and open your pharmacy?

Congress won’t invest in Urban Communities? What more is the US Congress to do bail out every City throughout the US, dvelop millions of jobs and so forth. Privates enterprises are leaving Cities because - there is no one whom is not ripping off the drug stores, grocery stores and many other businesses. Will CVS and Rite Aide rebuild in Baltimore - I highly doubt it

Yep, and THEY burned down a new church financed senior community center that was under construction.

I lived in Baltimore and his agenda would do nothing for those poor communities in Bmore because the local politicians all Democrats see these people as nothing more than cannon fodder and votes and have so for 45 years.

After all, he has a $200,000 pension, right?

Nope. 2X. Went up during Clinton, starting with Clinton's successor.

No wonder the Bent One's "foundation" can only spare 6% of its revenues.

“There’s a bunch of my agenda that would make difference right now in that,” he said, calling for more funding for early education, criminal justice reform and job training.

Wrong answer, Barry. We don't need more government. We can't AFFORD more government. Better solution:

End welfare. End affirmative action. Reduce the size and scope of government. Reduce taxation accordingly.

And abolish all gun-control laws.

See how things work out.

Rush was saying today that the left was looking for a way to blame the riots on Republicans. Looks like Obama found the taking point which will be repeated by media.

I though this was all the Police Department’s fault. If the Democratic mayor can’t keep the PD in line, investing money is just throwing it down a rat hole because the protesters will just burn it down.

Actually the democrats have succeeded in urban cities like Baltimore.
Their goal is to keep the urban people down and dependent on the gummit. They have succeeded.

How much is enough for all of the blighted crises, libs? How much?

They'll NEVER say an exact amount, because it's NEVER enough. Liberalism itself creates and thrives on crises. Whether it's in depressed communities, schools, or a manufactured crisis like healthcare.

No thanks! That game card is no longer valid.

The term "invest" implies a return... urban communities show that that's a dubious proposition at best.

It's no wonder we don't "invest" there.

Camden Yard should have helped because with 81 home games per year, that draws a HUGE amount of people downtown to patronize downtown businesses. That was unless the city of Baltimore didn't bother to redevelop the area around Camden Yards/M&T Bank Stadium like they did with the Lo-Do district in Denver, CO; the Atlanta Braves are leaving Turner Field because they never really developed the area around the ballpark into a true entertainment area that could have attracted many visitors even during the off-season.

Why would anyone invest in something that can be torn down, torched or looted? You can’t even get an insurance policy to cover rioting and looting.

That’s just a bad investment.

I think I’d like to start a chain of drug stores exclusively designed for democrat run inner city ghettos. Franchise owners will receive an MRAP painted commie red. It will drive slowly down the street playing the latest rap and hip-hop ‘music’ to alert potential customers of its arrival. On the sides of the MRAP will be little pictures of the drugs being sold with a price next to them. Cash and drugs will be exchanged through one of the many gun port holes situated throughout the vehicle. Not sure what to name the company though.

Do it with private investments, because public spending won’t do squat
