April 14, 2015 MONTICELLO, IowaHillary Clinton may have been speaking to just 22 people here at her Iowa kickoff event, but the now-official 2016 candidate was looking far beyond the voters in the room when she outlined in the clearest terms yet the rationale for her campaign.
"A lot of people in the last few days have asked me, 'Why do you want to do this?' and 'What motivates you?'" Clinton said at the event. "And I've thought a lot about it, and I guess the short answer is, I've been fighting for children and families my entire life. ... I want to be the champion who goes to bat for Americans."

Clinton named four areas of focus for her campaign: building the economy up "tomorrow, not yesterday," strengthening families and communities, fixing the country's "dysfunctional political system"including getting "unaccountable" money out of the systemand protecting Americans from external threats.
It was her first time in Iowa since visiting the state during the 2014 midterm electionsand her first as a candidate since January 2008 on the eve of the Iowa caucuses. And the small, by-invitation-only format reflected her team's explicit focus on more-intimate meetings with voters as Clinton tries for a second time to win the Democratic nomination.

But, what's with the news reported elsewhere that her Facebook and Twitter lists are largely phony? (at least half)
Why, she’s one of us!
Fixing the country’ dysfunctional political system?
She does realize it was her disbarred, rapist husband that started this.
It's going to be a long campaign.
And what was the point of a “bus tour” if she didn’t make any stops on the way to Iowa.
It’s all bogus.
That is all.
What a joke. The RATS can have her as their candidate. All day long.
Lots of.people have asked her why she wants to do this, what motivates her??? Really??? Does anybody else believe that she gets so many questions about that, that she feels compelled to answer a question nobody at her event even asked about?????
Nothing new. Leftist causes championed by the media always draw more reporters than supporters.
Isn’t that nice? She is doing this for the little people.
It’s a momentous struggle shoving this pig to Iowa. Scooby Doo will be another low mileage RV on some arkansas used car lots that specialize in astro-turf bed liners.
It’s “lookin’ good” for Hillary winning the state controlled “media” voters. Not “unexpected”.
Fox News showed her campaign headquarters in Iowa, I think there were maybe 5 people inside..the caption was “Supporters wait anxiously for Hillary Clinton’s arrival” LOL Ive seen more people enthusiastic at the dentist’s office
It’s all about the Chipotle! I guess that van will now stay in IOWA till January ‘16? It’s Secret Service owned? So one assumes the Hillary campaign will pay a rental fee/driver fee/costs operation cost to the SS? (yes, of course , I’m kidding!) IF they pay anything for use of this SS vehicle on her campaign, it’ll be the cheapest, smallest rental car’s monthly rate.
Fighting for children, eh? Is that why she fights tooth and nail to allow women to tear their children from limb to limb; sucking out their brains, ending in a horrible death?
Is that what you mean Hillary?
The Clinton behavior was so incredibly boorish yet the media went very easy on them and that trend accelerated by them has lead to the current situation where democrats are clearly not reluctant to invoke any strategies no matter how obnoxious they may have been perceived prior to the Reagen administration.
Similar to the time in 2008 candidate John McCain flew into a NH town and was met by a total crowd of 1 — and that 1 was a local reporter.
Chipolte Burritos for everybody!
