I watched the speech today live, I’ve been all in for Cruz for a long time, I’ve got to say after seeing him today I can’t remember when I felt this good about the future of our Republic.

He has a rare quality others will find hard to duplicate; he can tap into peoples emotions/feelings while simply stating the facts.

Also, Cruz should remember that the audience who will be listening on radio, TV, YouTube, etc., vastly outnumber the live audience. Ronald Reagan always spoke as though speaking to an individual sitting about five feet away, not as though speaking to 50,000 people in a vast arena—even when he was speaking to 50,000 people in a vast arena.

We need to be on our knees and praying and on our feet and fighting.

Only thing missing from that speech was: “Imagine a First Lady who knows how to dress appropriately and attractively!”

Thanks for posting. I finally got a chance to watch the speech. Truth be told, it didn’t really matter to me so long as it was competently delivered. And he exceeded my expectations. :-)

I already decided awhile ago that I was in if he decided to run. He’s running, so I’m in.

We’re in for a hellacious fight. Reminds me of the last existential political battle we had in 1980. Except in this case the opposition is a lot more evil.

Local talk show host is already saying Cruz isn’t electable while talking up Walker. Later admitted he supports Walker.

The media will make all Republicans unelectable.

Something [someone] to be excited about for the first time in 7 years.

I feel de-stressed all of a sudden. Hope and pray his star continues to soar!

I support the platform of Mr. Cruz:

Becoming energy self-sufficient,
repealing every word of Obamacare,
making health insurance personable and affordable,
a simple flat tax,
abolishing the IRS,
securing the borders,
standing for the first amendment rights of every American,
defending the sanctity of human life,
upholding the sacrament of marriage,
protecting the right to keep and bear arms,
protecting the privacy rights of every American,
repealing every word of Common Core,
embracing school choice of public, charter, Christian, parochial and home schools,
standing with the Nation of Israel (standing ovation),

Ted Cruz frightened both Democrats and Republicans with his announcement on Monday that he is running for President.

Ted Cruz has Tea Party values – he wants a much smaller Federal government and less government interference in the lives of the American people. This agitates Washington politicians on both the Left and the Right, as a good number of them seem to enjoy their power and their prestige.

Ted Cruz promised that as President he would have a flat income tax with fair equitable taxation for all Americans. He would secure our border. He would shut down ObamaCare and would reduce the size and reach of our government.

Ted Cruz has better ideas and more courage than most Republicans do in Congress. Ted Cruz would accomplish much, returning the size and scope of our Federal government to its intended boundaries. Such courage frightens both Democrats and Republicans.

Not Kinder gentler, Not Compassionate

instead

COURAGEOUS CONSERVATISM.

who does that remind you of?

hint:

Dear Mr. Reagan, it should be obvious to you now that you can never be elected governor. Please put aside your ego, for the good of our party, and get behind the one man who is moderate enough to appeal to California voters - - San Francisco Mayor George Christopher.” Look Magazine 966 ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////AND George Christopher (R), commenting on his gubernatorial opponent, Ronald Reagan (R): Los Angeles Times, Feb 16, 1966 “Surely we should not seek a candidate who is not contemporary in his thought and who recklessly talks about disbanding the United Nations, dismantling the Social Security system, declaring war on North Vietnam and repealing the graduated income tax.”

Courageous Conservatism.

Do we have enough conversation and “keyword” inclusions to create a “top-of-page” listing for Cruz’s current run to POTUS?

It would be your choice of titles but maybe minimizing all the FR discussion using the keyword “cruz4potus” might work.

Unquestionably, Cruz has energized millions of us who were losing hope — daily watching progressives get away with blatant lies, corruption, unconstitutional and impeachable acts of treason and worse.

Yeah, and now Cruz is even sticking it to the tired old global warming crowd. Does your heart boundless good to hear those “View” witches cackle and bitch.

But how can he expect to win? The only thing he’s got going for him is honesty, integrity, love of country and Constitution, brilliant intelligence, eloquence and — maybe most important — the guts and will to stick it to the progressive scum as well as his “fellow” republican traitors.

I’m not rich, but I’m energized, for the first time in years! Here’s a guy we can follow through the bowels of hell.

I’m in for $50 and plan to keep on giving. http://www.tedcruz.org/?utm_source=p-email&utm_medium=email6&utm_campaign=email

I’m shocked to come to Free Republic and see so little response and enthusiasm. Let’s step up.

We hear what the candidates say now about issues, but what did they think was important when they announced their run for president. This vital first speech should have covered what they thought was important to this nation.

Here is their (Trump, Cruz, Rubio) total remarks on the important issues.
