Burn his flute and shoot him in the brain. What nonsense. That’s sort of like saying that we should have let Hitler off the hook because he could paint. Instead of using his talent, he made bad decisions and took away life. His life is no longer his own. You take a life and your life is forfeit—along with all the talents and potential that you ever had.
