Obamacare is costing way less than expected
VOX ^ | 2/2/15 | Ezra Klein

In January 2010, the Congressional Budget Office projected that the federal health spending would total a bit more than $11 trillion between 2011 and 2020.

Today, the Congressional Budget Office thinks it made a mistake. Costs are coming in lower-than-expected, and the CBO's newest projections suggest the federal government will spend $600 billion less on health care than they predicted back in 2010.

So far, so good: projections are always wrong by at least a bit, and it's nice to have the extra $600 billion in America's pocket.

But here's the incredible thing: as Paul Van de Water, a health care expert at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, points out, the January 2010 projection didn't include any of the spending associated with Obamacare. The latest projections include all of the spending associated with Obamacare.

Also note, the government is not paying anyone so the costs paid by the government are way down. Doctors are not accepting Medicare and Medicaid patients and the patients are having to pay out of pocket and the government takes years to pay if they pay at all. Provider billings are reimbursed after a year or so if they cannot delay any further or relegate the bill to “document Hell”. And then there is the infamous “it ain’t authorized”.

And it will soon be getting MUCH CHEAPER, once the Supreme Court disallows roughly 75% of the subsidies that are (presently) being ILLEGALLY PAID.

Obama will not obey the SCOTUS. He will make them take him to court over the action and run out the clock

There is only one way to gain control of Obama and it isn’t the law

Spending on the treatment for people with existing conditions that they were forced to insure?

Forced to insure? LOL The insurance companies were the biggest promoters and facilitators of Obamacare every bit the equal of the Obama administration itself. And they are making out like bandits.

“what makes you think this admin would obey a SCOTUS decision?”

Fair point - but, of course, future-President Cruz can make it PERFECTLY CLEAR that there will be PROSECUTIONS for lower-level people that ignore the ruling.

...but no, you’re probably right, they’ll find some way to squirm around the ruling and buy another 2 years.

It’s not costing my family less. Our premiums have more than quadrupled. Our deductible has gone from $500 per year to $5,500.
Our income level is lower middle class. We are getting hammered with medical bills. I have a genetically caused auto-immune disease and am about to stop treatment and say to hell with it.

The cost to middle class workers isn’t lower than expected. Insurance companies have us coming and going, higher premiums, and higher deductions. A yearly doctor’s visit that used to cost me $20 bucks now costs anywhere from $200 to a $1,000 bucks, depending on labs. Even though we are paying higher premiums, the first visit of the year is on us. Once a year is one too many times to go the doctor.
