These numbers remind us of the extent to which the continued Jewish commitment to the Democratic Party has become an anomaly. All the other ethno-religious groups that, like the Jews, formed part of the coalition forged by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1930s have followed the rule that increasing prosperity generally leads to an increasing identification with the Republican Party. But not the Jews. As the late Jewish scholar Milton Himmelfarb said in the 1950s: "Jews earn like Episcopalians"then the most prosperous minority group in America"and vote like Puerto Ricans," who were then the poorest.
Jews also remain far more heavily committed to the liberal agenda than any of their old ethno-religious New Deal partners. As the eminent sociologist Nathan Glazer has put it, "whatever the promptings of their economic interests," Jews have consistently supported "increased government spending, expanded benefits to the poor and lower classes, greater regulations on business, and the power of organized labor."

I'm not so sure Jews are so "alone" in maintaining the old New Deal coalition. Many other groups (Catholics, urban ethnics, union members, Blacks) are just as Democrat as ever.
The article defines liberalism primarily by economic positions. I would define it by moral/social positions. Decent people may disagree about economic policies, but not on the baseline standards of G-d for being civilized human beings.
First there is no flaming, except from you.
Your posts seem to be all personal attacks with a lot of lying involved to make them.
Your sole purpose seems to be you trying to block conservatives discussing the voting and politics of liberal groups, why would you do that?
Or is it just one liberal groups voting, I don’t recall you being this rabid and obsessed and nasty and dishonest with threads involving voting from any other liberal group.
My type, interesting, no wonder you have been anything but conservative on this thread.
OK is THIS of interest? :)
As an example.
Most liberal Jews view the Christian right as wanting to impose a Christian America on them, said Marshall Breger, professor at the Catholic University of Americas Columbus School of Law and leading voice on inter-religious relations. To the extent to which the bulk of Jews are liberal, both politically and culturally, theyll have negative views of the Christian right.
And here is the kicker that should concern ALL conservatives.
“The survey, conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute and published April 3 [2012], asked Jewish respondents to rate the favorability of several religious groups. Mormons received a 47% favorability rating, Muslims 41.4%; the group described as Christian Right was viewed in favorable terms by only 20.9% of Jewish Americans.”
I’ve certainly gotten some interesting responses.
One of the most extraordinary features of Barack Obama's victory over John McCain was his capture of 78% of the Jewish vote.
I think post 87 nails it.
The more Christian, the more Jews despise it, they approve of Mohammedans over devoted Christians.
Related to the correction you recieved in post 89, you would have to go back to 1920 to see a republican getting 43% of the Jewish vote.
In 1920 Harding got 43% of the Jewish vote and Eugene Debs of the Socialist party received 38% of the Jewish vote, the democrats got the rest of it.

“LOL, Ive never made such posts, not about Jews, nor Israel.”
Quick Boolian search of your name and “Jew”, just the random top 10. It’s basically the same line over-and-over:

And you are still a liar.
Of course I post on threads that involve politics, even if like this thread, it involves the Jewish vote.
You aren't even an American are you? Yet here you are making these dishonest claims and trying to prevent this conservative political site from discussing voting by liberal groups, why are you doing that?
Really? Google yourself.
Basically every Jewish or Israeli-related thread is the same crap posted by you. I just posted the first screen.
In fairness, your anti-Catholic posts probably outnumber your anti-Jewish posts (although you do tend to mix the two).
Your anti-Mormon posts are just confusing and apparently deal with your fetish for wanting multiple wives.
++++++
Not sure how my citizenship is relevant, but as I look at my US Passport, sitting here at a US Airbase where I just spent 8 hours training American pilots, I realize you are a complete idiot, as well as an anti-Semite.
Nope, nope, Republicans are for the rich, and Dems are for the common man. Dems care about people. I just couldn't make them see what they were voting for the last forty years. They never got over The Great Depression and FDR "saving" the country.
Google myself to read my posts on this thread for instance, which one is anti-Jewish?
You on the other hand are raving in defense of liberal voting, and your very first post on this thread is an attack, not on liberals, or democrats, but on the two republicans most identified with Christianity, a Catholic and a Protestant.
The bottom line is that your anti-Evangelical hatred comes through, and I would like you to point out anything anti-Jewish that I have posted on this thread, as you try to use that lie to end discussion of a liberal voting group. Why are you doing that?
You are born and raised in Israel, when did you become an American citizen?
Why would your attacks on this thread be directed at Christianity and conservatism, and why would you be so frantic and angry about us talking about liberal voters?
I think post 87 explains your raging at this thread’s topic and your views on religion.

I could not disagree with your generalizations more.
I am Lutheran, but grew up in a Jewish urban neighborhood. My childhood friends were either Jewish, Catholic or Lutheran. My field has a large Jewish presence. I probably understand the cultural mindset of (largely secular) urban Jews than you.
Jews do not reject Christianity. They only think about it when people try to proselytize. It reminds those of us with a historical sense of the Inquisition.
I am sure you are a good person, but if I were Jewish, I would be deeply offended by your comments.
Typical... something happens that you don’t like and it’s la la la la I can’t hear you.
Call them the Quorgians or what have you, they are a formidable voting force in the land.
As for highly religious Jews they already tend to go along with Republicans. Why barnstorm them for what they are doing now.
