A weekly call to prayer for Muslims will be heard at Duke University starting Friday, school officials said.
Members of the Duke Muslim Students Association will chant the call, known as adhan or azan, from the Duke Chapel bell tower each Friday at 1 p.m. The call to prayer will last about three minutes and be moderately amplified, officials said in a statement Tuesday.
The adhan is the call to prayer that brings Muslims back to their purpose in life, which is to worship God, and serves as a reminder to serve our brothers and sisters in humanity, said Imam Adeel Zeb, Muslim chaplain at Duke. The collective Muslim community is truly grateful and excited about Dukes intentionality toward religious and cultural diversity.

Why? Can't Muslim's program a reminder into their phones? Why does everyone have to be subjected to that caterwauling?
If I were a Duke student I would amplify a recording of Porky Pig’s famous declaration, “t-t-t-that’s all folks” timed to follow this call immediately.
Are there any plans to convert the Duke Chapel into a mosque?
Duke deserves every bit of rottenness that can be inflicted on it.
Because it's the most beautiful sound in the world
"The most beautiful sound in the world," according to Barack Obama, is the Islamic call to prayer
Colleges are actively in the business of promoting one ideology over others. An ideology of violence and intolerance.
Why: because they know this ideology wants to destroy American civilization and values.
Heads will roll over this!
This must be most embarrassing for Duke University alumni.
To be outed as weak and so easily intimidated, brought to it’s
knees by a radical, ignorant primitive culture.
All hail Duke University of Islam or Mohammad/Duke University of appeasement.
Stalin got this one right!
“The school was organized by the Union Institute Society, a group of Methodists and Quakers under the leadership of Reverend Brantley York, and in 1841, North Carolina issued a charter for Union Institute Academy from the original Brown’s Schoolhouse. The state legislature granted a rechartering of the academy as Normal College in 1851, and the privilege of granting degrees in 1853. To keep the school operating, the trustees agreed to provide free education for Methodist preachers in return for financial support by the church, and in 1859 the transformation was formalized with a name change to Trinity College and the adoption of the motto “Eruditio et Religio,” meaning “Knowledge and Religion.”

LMAO!!
How many Muslims do they have on campus? Or are they catering to non-student Muslims in and around Durham?
They have a large and beautiful Methodist (UMC) chapel at Duke. Do the Muslims get access for their prayers to the pedophile Mohammed?
I used to think of Duke as being a fine school. Allowing this muslim madness onto its campus changes my opinion. As an aside, I’ve noticed that the current Duke basketball team seems to have gotten somewhat thuggish. Duke basketball players used to look and act classy. Except for Christian Laettner, of course, remembered for his classless kicking of UK’s Aminu Timberlake.
Next, nobody better be seen eating in public in daytime during Ramadan. You might get beaten up by enraged famished muzzies.
Catholic students should demand that Angelus bells be rung at 6 am, noon and 6 pm.
I’d rather see the chapel in ruins and not even useful to any one than to have this happen. This must not be allowed to stand.
I can still taste the PBJ sandwich that was my lunch every day in Catholic school after we prayed the noon Angelus.
The vampire has just been invited into the home.
“The adhan is the call to prayer that brings Muslims back to their purpose in life, which is to worship God, and serves as a reminder to serve our brothers and sisters in humanity, If this is their stated purpose in life, then who are those using the same name who are raping & killing?
