Could the Charlie Hebdo attack be opening the eyes of some in the liberal media?
On his MSNBC show this evening, Ed Schultz surprisingly said "now when something like this [Charlie Hebdo] comes up, when you start talking about the militarization of police you start to view it in a different light." Welcome to the real world, Ed.

Well, they probably should not swagger around town with loaded automatic weapons, but they should have them handy and ready if needed.

Well, when members of the fourth estate are the targets of terror, the libtards finally start to get it.

Or is this the ramping up to the creation of Obama’s special force that he spoke of early on? Soon, we’ll see this “military” “protecting” us from supposed Islamic threats, but at the same time, take down the number 1 enemy as per DHS, US citizens themselves....

Yep.
Militarize the police all you want, they still can’t protect individuals from random attacks nearly so well as a majority of those citizens carrying personal armaments.

Why would that be the response to Hedbo?
In fact — Americans are seeing the Second Amendment in the same light they always have..

When you have only seconds to act, even the militarized police are minutes away.
I'll believe Schultz "gets it" when he calls for editors and journalists to have 45's in their desks.

Well, you might need militarized police to deal with Muslim terrorists, but when every podunk town in America gets this gear from DHS, they don’t have anyone else to use it on but us.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
Make no mistake, Shultz will want to federalize police departments.

Huh? Ed now thinks that unarmed cops riding up on the scene on bicycles is not much of a fighting force against armed terrorists?
Welcome to reality, Ed.

Make no mistake, Shultz will want to federalize police departments. Aye — but the terrorists he's concerned about are TEA Party people
, gun nuts
, and Constitutionalists.

It’s not the police we need to militarize, to prevent these sorts of things. It’s the general populace.
