In an exclusive interview with Breitbart Texas, Congressman Pete Sessions (R-Texas) pushed back against critics who view Congressional Republican leadership as weak on amnesty, and defended the planned homeland security appropriations bill that will come up for a vote in the new Congress as a strong tactic against President Obamas unconstitutional executive amnesty orders.
Sessions spoke to Breitbart Texas for nearly an hour, and also shared four letters he wrote to constituents about the legislation earlier this month. He was clearly aware of the criticism leveled against him but was also adamant that the appropriations bill was not pro-amnesty and that it would effectively thwart Obamas efforts to enact amnesty by executive order. Sessions also did not deny previous comments he has made that drew attacks as being pro-amnesty, but argued that the comments were taken out of context and that the focus right now needed to be on finding a way to pass the appropriations bill.
Chairman of the powerful Rules Committee, Sessions holds significant sway over legislation and has become a target for conservative activists who are frustrated with the Republican leadership under Speaker John Boehner. Sessions did not criticize Boehner directly during our interview, but they have butted heads on at least one key occasion during the past few years, regarding Sessions leadership of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

Too late Jefe!
Pete not Jeff
He’s not a Boehner guy if he votes against Boehner as Speaker. Same goes for all the frauds who campaigned as constitutional conservatives.
Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...[Posted on 04/21/2013 1:52:42 PM PDT by SoConPubbie]
[but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
Jefe, not Jeff.
Spanish, means “boss”/ “leader”.
Meant sarcastically it’s akin to saying “Sure thing boss.”
ok
Which one do we like?
Let’s not confuse him with my great Senator Jeff Sessions, who I guarantee is neither pro-amnesty nor pro-Boehner. Especially not after all the mail I have sent him on both topics.
He should apologize for things that never happened and half FR will support him.
Remember this guy, Pete sessions, is from Texas, by remembering to beware, not all congress people from Texas are conservative. Look at cornyn. Pete sessions R from Texas is like cornyn. He is consistently just as awful
Pete bad, Jeff good. Right? I like the KISS principle.
This guy is attached to the left cheek of Boehner’s butt
He’s a liar. I told my own congresscritter to pound sand after his disgraceful vote FOR the rule, then against the rule.
In the KISS rule, Jeff good Pete bad
Pete in all actuality is a Florida resident, thanks to his new bride. In 2015, he’ll spend as much time in Texas as Pat Roberts will spend in Iowa.
The Republicans need to be told in no uncertain terms that if they vote in a way that supports Obama’s lawless actions regarding immigration, if they dare vote for amnesty, their fate will assuredly be the same as all those Democrats who voted for Obamacare .... GONE. They WILL be voted out or forced to not seek re-election/resign.
If true he probably wouldn’t be in his current position. He is most likely allowed by Boner to go off the reservation as long as he doesn’t directly criticize Boner.
Which he did not.
Kind of like running your own strawman to prove you don’t have it in for whoever the strawman is supposed to represent.
I hate the rino/gop-e bs that they expect us to believe, lying to our faces and faking outrage when we don’t buy the lies.
Liar.
