Jonathan Gruber, the man at the center of Obamacares troubled public image, apologized to Congress for glib and thoughtless comments about the stupidity of the American voters and how the health overhaul passed, arguing he is no political expert and shouldnt have posed as one in speeches around the country.
Its never appropriate to try to make oneself seem more important or smarter by demeaning others. I knew better. I know better. Im embarrassed, and Im sorry, Mr. Gruber, an economics professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, told the House oversight committee chaired by Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican.

He was put on the spot by Issa for not filing out his income statements as required. When those get completed and become part of the questioning things may get serious.
NOT!
Conflict of interest statements are pretty common these days in academia. It would be interesting to see what he signed..
Why should the democrats be concerned about lying? They always get away with it. Remember Hillary dodging bullets in Bosnia? Now she’s about to be elected president. Just one example.
Let me see — if I understand this correctly
1. Majority polls against Obamacare from the beginning
2. Not one Pub Rep or Senator votes for the plan
3. Not one Rub Governor supports the plan. Most join
court fight against it
Evidently these were not the “stupid voters” who bought into
the lies. So— who were the “stupid voters” Gruber thought were hoodwinked into buying into the lies? Only leaves moonbat libs doesn’t it?
Dems lied? I am shocked!! shocked!!
Well, only the RATcaucus, they're Americans, they vote, they voted for Obama and Obamacare....and, they ARE stupid.
“Except as provided in clause (ii), the applicable percentage with respect to any taxpayer for any taxable year is equal to 2.8 percent, increased by the number of percentage points (not greater than 7) which bears the same ratio to 7 percentage points as the taxpayer’s household income for the taxable year in excess of 100 percent of the poverty line for a family of the size involved, bears to an amount equal to 200 percent of the poverty line for a family of the size involved. *(ii) SPECIAL RULE FOR TAXPAYERS UNDER 133 PERCENT OF POVERTY LINE- If a taxpayer’s household income for the taxable year is in excess of 100 percent, but not more than 133 percent, of the poverty line for a family of the size involved, the taxpayer’s applicable percentage shall be 2 percent.”
No where in the law does it state FPL or Federal Poverty Line, meaning it was designed for state exchanges only.
He told the truth when it counted before the cameras,,,,twice
I don’t want an apology , I want fines and jail time.
So what if he did? Nothing will be done about it. Our country is now a pathetic farce run by greedy nancy boys.
Sadly, I agree with you.
When I see the bastard’s head on a pike I might think about accepting an apology without that he can keep going to hell.
That’s the funny thing. Gruber couldn’t mean that the American people are stupid. The American people were upset from the start of this deal, and had no say in voting for Obamacare. And EVERY Republican in Congress was smart enough to vote against it.
What he is saying is that 225 Democrat Congressmen and 60 Democrat Senators who forced this on us in 2010 are stupid. And he has a good point there.
And they are too stupid to admit that they were duped by him and Obama. OK, maybe a few Democrat Senators did admit that they might have been fooled by Obamacare. Those Democrat Senators just lost their seats last month. Oopsy.
Too late, you are a stupid tool, Gruber.
Exactly!
The Mother of all Worthless “Apologies”.
Did anyone ask him if all his analyses are as bad as the work he did for Obamacare?
