On Monday Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH) called the grand jury’s decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown a “miscarriage of justice.”
In a statement released through the Congressional Black Caucus, which she chairs, Fudge said the decision not to indict Wilson “is a slap in the face to Americans nationwide who continue to hope and believe that justice will prevail.”
“This decision seems to underscore an unwritten rule that Black lives hold no value; that you may kill Black men in this country without consequences or repercussions,” Fudge said. “This is a frightening narrative for every parent and guardian of Black and brown children, and another setback for race relations in America.”
“My heart goes out to Michael Brown’s loved ones, and to the loved ones of all the Michael Browns we have buried in this country,” Fudge said.
Last week, G.K. Butterfield, the incoming chair of the Congressional Black Caucus — and former Superior Court judge — said that a crime “probably was committed” in the shooting and he warned that if [grand jurors] turn their backs on justice
there will be pushback from those who are concerned about it and Im one of those whos concerned about it. There will be pushback. We will be asking questions.
There were three black people on the grand jury that declined to indict Officer Wilson. So, they, too, believe “black lives hold no value”?
Value is an additive quality. You have to ADD something to make that life of any real value.
When you engage in Thug Culture, you decrease what value your life may have otherwise been worth.
Fix your damn Culture and stop whining.
“Congressional Black Caucus Chair: There Is An Unwritten Rule That Black Lives Hold No Value” this is true; just look at all the Blacks that are murdered by other Blacks - such a pity!
“Particularly to other blacks” was my first reaction
To rephrase your point somewhat, when a police officer (of any color) kills an innocent person (of any color), the entire community stands together in condemning the act, even if the police choose to defend the actions of the officer as "within policy". However, most of the thinking people in the community wait to find out if what the officer did was actually reasonable within the sequence of events that actually occurred.
In cases like Michael Brown, it is not the sequence of actual events that matter to the community agitators (and white guilt profit takers), but it is the imagined racist movie villain chain of events that are posited to have possibly occurred that are supposed to overshadow reality.
I, like most conservatives, condemn the police when they have transgressed in the real world. The racists who profit from Ferguson type events condemn whenever the officer and victim correspond to their stereotypical ideals in terms of skin color, no matter what actually happened in the real world.
the gentle giant was not innocent...... he was a dangerous criminal
I am just so enraged by these people. Brown was charging the officer. The fact that he was black does not give him the right to act like a drugged up lunatic with an intent to harm a police officer.
Bunch of unemployed Drama Queens.
Ms Fudge, maybe you should tell the blacks that they need to value their lives along with academics, so they can get ahead. You should tell them that parents should raise their own kids.
There Is An Unwritten Rule That Black Lives Hold No Value
They have value but not more than others, therefore they have no right to threaten other lives without consequence. From a purely utilitarian view, some lives have more value than others according to what they contribute to society vs what they take from it. Unfortunately there is a substantial subculture that is parasitical on the rest of society and people naturally consider those lives less valuable than the producers. People decide for themselves which group they belong to.
Which is a key aspect of the point I was making.
If the person killed is innocent, and did not cause their own demise, the WHOLE community gets mad, but AFTER the facts become known.
If the dead person is black and the killer is white, only the community agitators get mad before ANY facts come out, while they whip up a frenzy on false “facts” that support their outrageous viewpoint.
The fact that the dead black person may have caused their own demise is never a factor for the agitators - but it is the crux of the matter for the rest of the community, who prefer to THINK rather than emote their way through life.
Every single one of those thug protestors have had the opportunity to acquire FREE money for education even if they dropped out of high school. The gubbamint set up programs to grant $$$ for whatever they chose to be, barber, auto mechanic, welder, lawyer, doctor...whatever!
Not only free money for education and career training, but pay their housing, food and stipend while they are attending classes to better themselves.
What is it about the black community across this nation that causes such laziness? Why are blacks so dependent, yet scream and holler about their situation? Why is it that blacks make up 13% of the population yet commit the largest percentage of all crimes per capita?
What makes a person burn down innocent shop owner's businesses or injure innocent whites, Asians, Indians that have nothing at all to do with any of this?
Society, the media, gubbamint officials attempt to hide through political correctness and appeasement the truth about the gangster hip hop thuggish inner city black community in an effort to shed a more positive light.
It is what it is! Blacks will never rise above their plight because they continue to stereotype themselves, continue the blame game and cling to their crack pipes and liberal politics that promise every day a new shiney toofesses and uh set uv rimz.
Pull your damn pants up. Get rid of the grill. Get a haircut. Attend English classes to learn proper English so you may interact effectively with society. Get a job, work your way through career development, stay off the pipe and keep yo pecker (or your legs closed) in yo pants.
Will y'all stop suckin the juice of life outta our country? Good grief already!
The dumb bioch already got justice in this case, she is just too stump stupid to know what justice is.
Justice isn’t revenge for a perceived slight, it’s a finding of fact, and punishment only if the facts prove a crime was committed!
There’s another dictum that says Congress is composed of bums. Black, white hispanic, chinese... Bums all.
