Coming Attractions Bridal and Formal, Inc., had to shut down for three weeks after Vinson visited with a low-grade fever days before checking into the hospital with Ebola. Vinson is now asking for nearly $500 from the store so her bridesmaids can purchase dresses elsewhere to avoid 'public scrutiny,' according to a letter from attorney Stephen Malouf.
The Ebola survivor who visited an Ohio bridal store with a low-grade fever and forced the shop to temporarily shut down is asking for a refund.
Amber Vinson, now Ebola-free, is requesting nearly $500 from Coming Attractions Bridal and Formal, Inc., to the shock of its owner, according to newsnet5.com.
"I don't know what she thinks about our business," store owner Anna Younker said. "Does she think she's hurt it enough?"
Coming Attractions had to shut down for three weeks after Vinson came to the Akron, Ohio store the weekend before checking into the hospital with Ebola, Younker said.
Vinson, a Dallas nurse, was the second person to contract Ebola on American soil. She was not contagious at the time of her visit with a low-grade fever, according to the CDC.
The refund, a total of $479.89, would allow Vinson's bridal party to purchase dresses elsewhere, according to a letter from her attorney. She requested $107 back for two bridesmaids and $132.92 for two others who bought or put down deposits on dresses there.

She’s back for another 15 minutes.What a pity.
She’s looking for someone to start a pity account. It’ll probably work cuz people ARE stupid.
They should subtract the $5000 from the ammount of business they lost because of her dumb ass and send her the bill for lost revenue.
Tell it to Judge Judy.
Good grief !!!!
At this point I’d countersue her for the lost revenue due to her decision to put others at risk.
I’m not sure who’s worse: Kaci Hickox or Amber Vinson.
But the award for most selfish, shameless greed goes to Ebola nurse Amber.
Shame on her. She about bankrupted that bridal shop because of her selfish, self-centered behavior and now she has her hand out for money AND she’s taking her business to a different store. God help the other store. I bet she is a jewel to work with.
I’m with you. She cost them business. It’s not their fault, but it is hers. They owe her nothing.
Why is this news?
I’m sure glad that my life is not scrutinized by the whole world. I would make a terrible celebrity!
“They should subtract the $5000 from the ammount of business they lost because of her dumb ass and send her the bill for lost revenue.”
I like it.
If she has enough money to flit around the country, she should profusely apologize and write off the $500.
A deposit is a deposit- was it refundable?
I doubt it- you are booking the stores time and money and if you get sick its not THEIR fault.
Not surprising at all from someone who has acted like she has. But of course, the MSM will present her as a victim.
Well, well, well. What a selfish individual. This store had a loss of revenue for 3 weeks because of her and now she wants her deposit back? I hope they have a signed contract stipulating the deposit is non-refundable.
I hope she goes away soon.
First, send her the bill for all their lost revenue from the 3 weeks they were forced to shut down, and anything that had to be destroyed because of her. THEN they can talk about refunding deposits.
No refund, She actually should be giving the store money for her stupidity. She knew better than to travel. Anyone who works in the medical field knows there are protocols in place. The blame of the CDC and others is not adequate. Thinking the worse planning for the best and being cautious should have been used by Amber Vinson.
