Russia has announced plans to build a drone base for military reconnaissance in a town just 420 miles off mainland Alaska and just over 300 miles off the US state’s St Lawrence Island, Russia’s state news agency reported on Thursday.
"The command of the eastern military district in charge of the military development of the Arctic zone has moved forward with plans to form an unmanned aerial vehicle division,” Alexandr Gordeev, spokesperson for the district said.

“Alaska was historically Russian, so they have every right to invade and take it back”... isn’t that what Putin fans were saying about Crimea and eastern Ukraine?? I am sure they’ll show up here to justify this.

What’s going to be really funny to watch is when a Russian military drone goes whipping around Alaskan airspace, and one of the locals, fresh off happy hour, takes it out.

The Russian government has bee cleaning up and brightening up all the old gray concrete Soviet era buildings.
The paint schemes are um...very Russian, which is to say brash and a bit outrageous.
The newer condoplexes in Moscow are a bit tamer, but still far more appealing then the concrete block crap of Brehznev land.
Even the Russians hated that.
