Elton John called Pope Francis "my hero" for his compassion and push to accept gays in the Catholic church, at his annual AIDS benefit.

John hosted the event, "An Enduring Vision: A Benefit for the Elton John AIDS Foundation," Tuesday night in Manhattan. He said Francis is pushing boundaries in the church and told the crowd: "Make this man a saint now, OK?"

The standards of God never change, even though those of the world - and pope - may.

God has always accepted sinners into the Church. However, we are called to repent.

I have no doubt that Jesus would welcome homosexuals. Eat with them. Pray with them. Walk with them.

...and then tell them to go and sin no more.

Oh good, Elton, now it’s your turn. Confessions are every Saturday. Sinners are always welcome. Welcome to repent and sin no more.

Jesus dined with sinners. As I recall they repented and sinned no more...

This pope is inexplicable.

With regard to the homosexuals, I view the Christian treatment of them akin to the way the good Samaritan treated the robbery victim. Compassion. You don’t have to be their best friend, but you treat them with compassion.

That’s the part they don’t get. Come to church, I will embrace you and pray with/for you, but like me or any other believer, you must turn away from the sin. I fail miserably some days on doing that with my own sin. But do not tell me you aren’t accepted in the Church. They simply want a church that condones the sin.

Now, I have a question. When Margaret Thatcher was given a noble title She was thereafter known as Lady Thatcher.

Since Melton John is married to his husband rather than call him Sir John shouldn’t he instead be called Lady John?

Just curious that’s all.

Homosexual media have been busy at perverting and altering the words of Pope Francis.

Here his words could not be more clear:

Elton John has it all wrong. Either he knows he is wrong and has joined with those spreading lies about Pope Francis, or he has been caught up in the deceit of the homosexual media. Either way his spirit lives is darkness.

Along the line of your expression here’s a real gem of a piece that articulates the welcoming of the sinner to the entry of the Church but requires repentance before entering.

Not to John: Watch what God calls Francis (and other popes) on judgement day.
