That’s the part they don’t get. Come to church, I will embrace you and pray with/for you, but like me or any other believer, you must turn away from the sin. I fail miserably some days on doing that with my own sin. But do not tell me you aren’t accepted in the Church. They simply want a church that condones the sin.

Along the line of your expression here’s a real gem of a piece that articulates the welcoming of the sinner to the entry of the Church but requires repentance before entering.
