An unnamed American freelance cameraman/writer working for NBC News in Liberia has tested positive for the deadly Ebola virus and will be flown back to the United States for treatment, NBC News reports.
The freelancer was hired by NBC on Tuesday to support Dr. Nancy Snyderman on assignment in Monrovia, but he came down with symptoms of the virus on Wednesday, according to NBC. On Thursday, he was diagnosed as having the virus.
The freelancer's condition comes just days after the Centers for Disease Control confirmed the first case of Ebola being diagnosed in the U.S. The male patient currently in intensive care in Dallas, Texas also contracted the virus in Liberia.
We are doing everything we can to get him the best care possible," NBC News President Deborah Turness said in a note to staff. "He will be flown back to the United States for treatment at a medical center that is equipped to handle Ebola patients."

I hope his next assignment is at the White House.
Anyone that can beg, borrow, or steal for a plane ticket is on the way to the US
Give me your tired, your poor, your wretched refuse dripping with horrific virus ...
BAN ALL INCOMING FLIGHTS FROM LIBERIA NOW!
Idiots go there at your own risk!
Dr. Nancy said this wasn’t coming here. What a joke
Obama, keep'em coming.
He’ll need a face to face with his boss at NBC headquarters to receive his marching order first.
Soon it will be easier to count those who DON’T have ebola thanks to our corrupt government.
Let’s just be positive about the whole thing....Ebola makes all the other imported diseases of the last decade seem tame!/s
Hope he goes to MSNBC studios and coughs on them
[for later]
Who will be paying for the quarantined flight?
This is the disease which is DIFFICULT TO GET according to the “experts”.
Its apparently easier to get than AIDS.
Wow! He or she is a fast worker. Hired one day, has symptoms the next, and diagnosed the day after that.
My Bull-shiite-o-meter is clanging away. I bet they knew this freelancer had been exposed and would exhibit symptoms soon and NBC wanted to report like they are part of the story or have some inside perspective.
Dammit, he’s probably going to die. Let him do it there not here.
Bingo.
Ebola has made most “folks” forget about all of Obami’s other scandals.
