Rochester police Capt. John Sherwin described the scene officers were called to about 1:40 a.m. Sunday as a "riot." Officers found 40-60 people fighting in the area of Third Street and First Avenue.
When one officer tried making an arrest, his glasses were knocked off and stepped on. When another officer tried making an arrest, four to five people tried grabbing an officer and pulling away.
"The officers do what they have to do, and their safety dictated that they responded in a way where at least a few people had to get away. Just because they got away Sunday morning doesn't mean we're not following up and trying to identify people who may have been involved," said Sherwin.
According to police, no officers were seriously hurt. Tong Bamloungghong, 22, and Tishea Hook, 24, both of Rochester, were arrested. Sherwin said there were only two arrests because officers had to fend for themselves rather than make arrests.
So do I.

Yeah, the cull rate could be dramatic.
“It started when a group of Asians and a group of African-
Americans both thought they were being disrespected by the others.”
Is the term Asian being used here to describe Pakistani’s or other “South Asians” or Chinese/Japanese/Korean type Asians?
If it is the former I can understand why a fight broke out when the Blacks objected to the Asians wanting to behead someone
This is why I hate the PC crap of making everyone east of Turkey “Asian”.
The world is full of different races. Acknowledge it.
There was funky Tong Bamloungghong and little Tishea Hook
He said here comes the big boss, lets get it on.
Wrong, just gun them down.
It didn’t give that kind of detail. The guy who was arrested looked Chinese/Japanese/Korean rather than Pakistani, etc.
When I lived in Las Vegas the big gangs were Black and Asian, and they hated each other. I think that was before MS13 and the other Hispanic gangs; I think they may have been tied in with the Asian gangs. This is what makes me wonder if this was gang-related.
Well, I won’t admit to my inclination with regard to that. :^)
I do want there to be the understanding that in this situation there are going to be victims mixed in with the perps.
I would hate to see even one victim caught in the gunfire, being victimized by officers in addition to the perps.
For the life of me, I can't figure out why "Kung Fu Fighting" isn't one of the top songs played at weddings..........
Good point, if they’re gonna treat the Police so badly, how are they going to treat average Joe/Jane?
They were fighting over who would be the first to read the only copy available of Tolstoy's War and Peace.
If the power goes off, you may not see them (unless they smile).
How close is this to MLK Drive/Blvd/Ave/ Whatever....
Best thing they EVER did. I won't exit onto MLK anywhere, even with a rod sticking out the crankcase....
Zoot Suit Riot.....throw back a bottle of beer.....
The few weddings I’ve attended must not have been as exciting as the ones you’ve attended. :)
Hmm - process of elimination could work here. I'll start:
They were NOT fighting over
1. The last job application.
Chuckle. Yeah, it’s like racial profiling by map. And they are too dumb to realize it.
