Rochester police Capt. John Sherwin described the scene officers were called to about 1:40 a.m. Sunday as a "riot." Officers found 40-60 people fighting in the area of Third Street and First Avenue.
When one officer tried making an arrest, his glasses were knocked off and stepped on. When another officer tried making an arrest, four to five people tried grabbing an officer and pulling away.
"The officers do what they have to do, and their safety dictated that they responded in a way where at least a few people had to get away. Just because they got away Sunday morning doesn't mean we're not following up and trying to identify people who may have been involved," said Sherwin.
According to police, no officers were seriously hurt. Tong Bamloungghong, 22, and Tishea Hook, 24, both of Rochester, were arrested. Sherwin said there were only two arrests because officers had to fend for themselves rather than make arrests.
The City Population: 106,769 - Wonder how it gets so out of control "Officers had to fend for themselves"?
Nothing good happens after midnight.
Kung Fu fighting in downtown Rochester?
“Tishea”...
Says it all.
First think you do is block all exits.
Arrest every last stinkin’ one of them. Sort it out over the next few months.
Throw the absolute book at anyone you can convict. If they get ten years, so be it. Twenty? Sound okay to me.
This S needs to stop now.
Those cats were fast as lightning.
Did I miss it? What were they fighting about?
If you catch a person in a situation like this three times, that alone should be grounds for action.
Anyone could get caught up in it once, perhaps twice, but three times?
Go after these guys. Use RICO laws to tap into their phones.
Nail these idiots.
crazy
if you think the cops can protect you when the EBT runs out, think again
“Nothing good happens after midnight.”

My heart went bang-shang-a-lang, bang-shang-a-lang Bang-shang-a-lang, bang, bang My heart went bang-shang-a-lang, bang-shang-a-lang Bang-shang-a-lang, bang, bang
But it was all with expert timing.
Have the hoplophobic elected folks and enemedia blamed guns yet?
It started when a group of Asians and a group of African-
Americans both thought they were being disrespected by the others.
Sounds like gang type stuff.
The two arrested were an Asian man and a Caucasian woman.
Agreed, I have lots of respect for the Police and what they have to put up with from those lacking manners.
Tong Bamloungghong, 22
I was thinking,
Bamloungghong,
Get It On!
Bamloungghong!
;)
Just a little reminder that mobs can win sometimes. If our power goes out, God help us.
“What were they fighting about?”
Probably who was better-Beethoven or Mozart! /s;)
If we are going to lose, make them pay dearly. Why does an average citizen need a carbine with 10 30 round pre-loaded mags (NOT clips)? Duh.
Where I live, power goes off and a "mob" comes around, the street is going to have a lot of human shaped speed bumps.
