It looks like the days of trading half of your peanut butter and jelly sandwich for half of your best friends ham sandwich may soon be over if the federal government has anything to do with it.
A Richmond, Virginia mother received the following note, telling her not to pack a lunch for her pre-school age child.
 Dear Parents,
I have received word from Federal Programs Preschool pertaining to lunches from home. Parents are to be informed that students can only bring lunches from home if there is a medical condition requiring a specific diet, along with a physicians note to that regard.
I am sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact Stephanie [redacted] the Health Coordinator for Federal Programs Preschool at [redacted].
 Thanks, Ms. [redacted]

Now granted, it's probably not the feds, or we'd have heard of more cases of this (unless it's a trial balloon to see what their masters will take sitting down), but who the heck does ANY gover-drone at ANY level think they are to be issuing diktats like these???? "Sorry for any inconvenience", hell. Should be more like "I'm so sorry for my limitless arrogance in trying to place myself ahead of these children's rightful guardians, I'll be committing seppuku in front of the flagpole at 3:00pm. All interested parties invited to attend."

If this crap spreads it will cause many parents (I hope) to freak out and storm the schools.

    “Dear school:
My daughter will not eat your crap. When she does not eat, she gets sick and I have to deal with the consequences. I can either send lunches with her, or pick her up each day to provide food for her. She might even make it back in time for afternoon classes.”

Outrageous if true. Course the site cites the CSPI and RW Johnson Foundation, known lunatics, so the site may not have credibility.

If true, a giant, collective “Kiss my a$$” is in appropriate. It is time to stop taking orders from the Federal government!!! They are supposed to be taking orders from us!!!! If my kid was eating in the lunchroom, I would be inclined to go to the trouble of preparing a lunch for him to carry. This calls for mass disobedience because it is ridiculous.

    Dear Ms Redacted,
I will be pulling my child out of your school effective immediately.
Sorry for any loss of federal funding this may cause.
