Gov. Chris Christie, who has long avoided wading into the immigration debate, said Thursday in Mexico City that he won't lay out his position on immigration reform unless he decides to run for president.
"Until that time I have no role in the immigration debate, except for how it may affect the individual citizens of New Jersey, which I'll deal with as governor," the New Jersey Republican told reporters.
"But I won't have anything to say on immigration unless and until I become a candidate for president of the United States," he continued. "If that happens, then I will articulate a full position on it."
Third of Mexicans would migrate to the U.S., survey finds.
His comments came on the second of a three-day trip to Mexico, where the governor is meeting with Mexican dignitaries and business leaders to build economic and education partnerships.
While Christie has repeatedly criticized President Obama for his handling of security enforcement at the U.S.-Mexico border, the governor has yet to detail his own position on legislation reform.

Another gutless “moderate” running true to form.
So your opinions are political...has nothing to do with you as a person? Ok, you mean like your beach buddy, Obama?
Chris Christie is running for President?
Who knew?
Is he going to be the Democrats’ default candidate in the event Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, should falter or be found unfit in some way?
Not much of a leap for Christie to then declare as a Democrat at that point.
Waddle maybe but run?
That Marine Sgt. Would be treated similarly if his wrong turn had landed him in New Jersey.
That’s all right. No one is going to vote for this loser anyway.
This won’t even be close...it’s a 10 point win for Scott..
Flashback:
Chris Christie trumpets signing of Dream Act in Union City
Gov. Chris Christie today urged the children of immigrants who came to this country illegally to “make the most of the opportunity” to pay in-state tuition at New Jerseys colleges and universities under the Dream Act.
The Republican governor signed the bill in private last month, but he highlighted the new law today, signing a reproduction of the bill, while flanked by Democratic lawmakers before hundreds of students.
Translation: “I’m still trying to come up with an answer that will piss off the least number of people possible.”
RE: That Marine Sgt. Would be treated similarly if his wrong turn had landed him in New Jersey.
You’re right, if they discovered that he had a gun.
A black woman from PA is now in jail for the offense of carrying a LICENSED and APPROVED gun by the state of Pennsylvania in her car while she was driving in NJ.
Christie is hardly a “gutless moderate”. A case can be made that he is all guts, at least all bowel. All bowel and no movement, based on his behavior and actions.
Then came this howler:
“But I won’t have anything to say on immigration unless and until I become a candidate for president of the United States,” he continued. “If that happens, then I will articulate a full position on it.”
Is the above the gobbling of a turkey, the clucking of a chicken, the hissing of a weasel, or the braying of his ‘inner jackass’?
Well, at least he admits that he has no convictions.
Can’t blame him....whatever position he takes will be used to vilify him by the Hillary for potus minions....
It actually is refreshing in a way, he is telling the media to take a hike on a subject that only affects him as the governor of NJ....and he has no sayso on a national problem...
How about the media ask questions that are pertinent instead of shilling for the Hillary potus run...?
Chris Christie.
. anti-gun
. pro-abortion
. anti-Israel
. pro-muzzloid
. pro-amnesty
Any ONE of those is enough for me not to vote for this loser.
That’s OK, we already know where the fatass coward stands.
Chris Christie claims to be a born-again Pro-Lifer.
Here’s his quote:
“I had been pro-choice before that. It was just kind of the default position that I took,” Pro-choice until seeing daughter pre-natally And we heard this incredibly strong heartbeat. And I remember we came separately. And I was driving back to work, I said to myself, you know, as to my position on abortion, I would say that a week ago that wasn’t a life. Until I heard that heartbeat.”
Starting today, all my previous positions are off.
Christie needs to come out for lane blockages at the border crossings.
