With the strife and violence continuing in the aftermath of Michael Brown’s shooting death by a police officer in Ferguson, more than 500 St. Louis Catholics gathered for a votive Mass for peace and justice Aug. 20 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.
Brown, 18, was black, and Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot him Aug. 9, is white.
St. Louis Archbishop Robert J. Carlson celebrated the Mass with 27 priests and, in his homily, laid out five important steps to “dismantle systemic racism,” which has become evident in Ferguson:
- “I am re-establishing today the Human Rights Commission in the Archdiocese of St Louis.”- “I am asking the Charles Lwanga Center to begin a study and offer solutions to decrease violence in our communities and in our families.”
- “I pledge an ongoing commitment to provide a pathway out of poverty by providing scholarships so that young people can receive a quality education in our Catholic schools.” (He noted that 3,000 children have received scholarships in the last year.)

not just most blacks though attacking this cop as there are plenty of whites who make excuses for them and , attack the cops. Hell we even had a couple on here who would not shut up about hating cops , convicting the cop while they ignored the riots etc.
I lived in a black area and trust me the racism in the black community is worn with a badge of honor , that is until they get a white girl
I haven’t heard of any masses specifically for the black on white murders either by street thugs or black cops.
Sticking a white dog’s nose in a black dog’s poop is not going to do anything more than create more hate and anger.

Why does this article refer to Brown by his second [confirmation] middle name, instead of using his full name?

Gotta explain a little more here. Why are you saying “black” and “white”? What’s the relevance here?
Let me decode this for anybody who just arrived from Mars.
“White” is code for people who are descendents of the British in America who took and owned slaves, or for people who didn’t have slaves but had a similar skin tone.
“Black” is code for people who are descendents of slaves, or who weren’t slaves but had a similar skin tone.
Even though all slaves and slaveholders are now dead, their guilt or victimhood has been passed on to any and all people with a similar skin tone.
So “White” today means a person who hates Blacks and does everything he can to make their lives miserable, while “Black” stands for an automatic victim of Whites.
Systemic racism means that if you are White you are racist even if you aren’t. There is no retreat from being White. No matter what you do you can’t shake off racism.
Brown, a black 300lb FUG (Feral Urban Gibsmedat), performed a Strong-Arm robbery at a Quick-Mart store with his (already wanted by police) accomplice (caught on videotape).
Shortly thereafter, Brown and his accomplice attempted to rob a white, on-duty police officer who was investigating the Quick-Mart Robbery, of his service weapon, using the same Strong-Arm approach seen on videotape during the Quick-Mart robbery.
After the white police officer resisted the robbery attempt/beat down, and fired his weapon in self-defense, Brown and his accomplice initially fled.
However, Brown, the black 300lb FUG, quickly returned to the scene and initiated a second attack on the police officer.
Refusing to halt his attack when directed by the officer, Brown's life was terminated with multiple shots from the same service weapon Brown had earlier attempted to take away from the officer.
It will be interesting to see what subsequent information releases contain.
