The man accused of murdering a popular high school guidance counselor first kidnapped and sexually abused the 31-year-old before strangling her to death, according to an indictment unveiled Monday. Sharman Howard Odom, 34, has been in custody since Aug. 2 in connection with the slaying of his Newton, N.C., neighbor, Maggie Daniels. The well-liked Discovery High School educator was found dead in her apartment June 28, though the indictment indicates that authorities believe the crime was committed the night before, the last day she was seen alive. Odom, one of 150 people questioned by cops, was first interviewed July 3 by Newton Lt. David Sigmon, who “noticed what appeared to be a patch of hair missing from the front portion of Sharman’s scalp near his forehead,” according to a search warrant obtained by WSOC-TV.

Exactly - this is the meme that the left/media are trying to perpetuate,
that “unarmed” equals “harmless”.
The goal, really, is to make it at least distasteful if not illegal to defend yourself from others who use physical force against you.
Primarily due to the fact they are confined to their neighborhoods without transportation.
