Missouri's governor ordered the National Guard onto the streets of Ferguson early Monday after another night of violence following the shooting by police of an unarmed black teen. "Tonight, a day of hope, prayers, and peaceful protests was marred by the violent criminal acts of an organized and growing number of individuals, many from outside the community and state, whose actions are putting the residents and businesses of Ferguson at risk," Gov. Jay Nixon said in a statement. "Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard to assist Colonel Ron Replogle and the Unified Command in restoring peace and order to this community.”

Our Savior, Cap’n Johnson , is a pathetic POS. His capitulation at yesterday’s pep rally only inflamed the situation, as he apparently convinced the thugs that he’s one of them at heart. Of course, he cannot now be removed from command because he’s black, but the calling up of the Guard is sufficient testimony to his utter failure as a LEO.

CNN all excited about a video released to them by a girl who says she is a witness. They keep re running it calling it breaking news, it only shows the scene afterwards with BIG MIKE in the street. She starts out by saying she really could not see all that well from were she was.

The cops in this country DO need to be de-militarized. The national guard should have been called out as soon as the damn looting started.
This governor, like most politicians, is highly unqualified.

The cops are over-militarized.
If the public can’t tell the cops from the military, the cops have too much stuff.
Let’s be real for a minute here on FR. WE HAVE BEEN complaining, watching, etc. the up-arming of the police with armored vehicles, drones, etc. and we complain ...we worry...and Ferguson demonstrates the public reaction when COPS are put on the street that look like faux military.
In fact, I’d lay odds it is all that equipment that lead the mayor, chief of police, and even the governor to be stupid about how much control they really had. The equipment made them feel over-confident about their ability to respond, which they have no ROE to use that equipment. The over-confidence escalated matters and delayed the governor’s response of calling in the National Guard.
I commented the other day when he put a 12-5am curfew out...what? I commented that was another dumb move. Curfew is dusk to dawn. There is absolutely no need for protests after dark.
This is a major mess and then you have the likes of Sharpton out there declaring a march on DC! What the heck? It is time to arrest such agents of violence.
Its not a tiny town, its in St Louis. St Louis is made up of a bunch of towns. Ferguson is less than a mile from the St Louis airport.
I guess that jerkwad Nixon figured if he put a black in position of authority he’d be home free. But then the guy stabbed him in the back by acting like one of the thugs instead of a LEO, proving once again that for blacks in America, race trumps everything.
