Military Bans Bibles But Forces Soldiers to Adhere to Ramadan Rules

The US Air Force kicked Christian Gideon’s volunteers off base in March.
The Bibles were too offensive and violated the separation of church and state rule.

But US military personnel are expected to adhere Islamic practices during Ramadan.
Stars and Stripes reported:

U.S. personnel accustomed to drinking their coffee on the drive to work will have to put that habit on hold for about a month. It’s one of a few lifestyle changes Americans will have to make during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Officials expect Ramadan to begin at sunrise on Saturday, depending on when the new moon is sighted. The holy month lasts for approximately 30 days — until about July 28. For Muslims around the world, Ramadan is a month of fasting and devotion to God. Most Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, when families gather for Iftar — the meal that breaks the fast.

For the 8,200 U.S. personnel living here, and those serving throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility — including servicemembers, civilian personnel, contractors and family members — the month may require changing some daily routines.

I am so damned glad that I am gone from the Army. I am so glad that I don’t have to put up with this crap. I would never tell a kid to day to go into the military. DOD MANDATE 4/14/2014 on TRICARE LIFE, this is going to be the next big scandal. This company was already scandal plagued and should have never been awarded this Multi Billion$$ contract for all daily med scripts. We try to use base dispensary which was the other choice, and then they went out an bought scandal plagued Medco.

There is a money trail there some where, I just don’t know where to look. very cumbersome process. $2 K in meds are shoved UN PHOTO ID SIGNED for in our HOT, HUMID mail box now, instead of going to a private pharmacy. That makes dangerous drugs available to kids, teens, meth makers and just plain drug thieves. I had to have PHOT ID TO GE A LIBRARY CARD. I’ve chewed out my Fed Rep over this. Simple DOD Order to and USPS would fix this pronto.

BTW you have NO guarantee a DAW script will be DAW. And ES uses the cheapest crap generic they can purchase and will bounce those around too. Some of us are drug sensitive or need name brand because generics ARE NOT equal to some drugs.

BE sure to read the complaints it will save you some grief in the long run.

My wife is now under Medicare and has Tricare for Life. In any bill that medicare did not pay the entire amount, I have yet to see stinking TLife pay a dime of it. And now they are saying that they will start charging us for Life. WHY? They are not paying a dime of any bills. Thankfully thus far no one has asked us to pay what Medicare did not pay for and TLife failed, refused, didn’t pay. I am nearing Medicare and Tlife, so Don’t know what that is going to mean when stinking Life starts charging us for nothing. I also use Exp Scrips for the two meds that we get on a yearly schedule. They send 90 days at a time and refill three times over the year. And the price for the 90 days seems higher than what I was paying at CVS for the same 90 days before starting using Scrips. But got a letter telling us that we had to start using scrips because they would charge me more for using CVS. Tells me this is all a stinking Dimocrat and company scam.

That DOD MANDATE declared you would pay 100% of the cost of your meds that Medicare does not usually cover unless you have part D. If you are near a base, a lot of your meds will be FREE. Even stuff like Miralax.

We are both Medicare/Tricare Life, hubby is the Ret SCPO. 74, I’m 66. The amount Tricare and Medicare pay varies from visit, meds, procedures, test. I have had 1 doctor’s visit come back with both agencies paying TWENTY EIGHT CENTS for the visit to my Gastro. We have been paying co-pays at private pharmacy we used for 30 yrs treated like family. Now it’s base dispensary, and you know the crap service you get there. ES is worse. Our scripts filled on the base, are refilled out of Pensacola takes 5 working days. I’ve been jumping all over my US Rep Fincher about the stuffing of these VERY COSTLY drugs in to my mail box UNSIGNED FOR! We do not do auto order.

My synthroid has to be name brand. I am allergic to the generic. Heck, I react to 90% of meds. I like samples before I fill a script, it tells me enough to know if I want to fill it. And yes the high end of $51 co-pay is up $10. Low end always varied by market from $5 or less and medium at $17. ES fought a year to keep from paying for my name brand Synthroid. Took sicking the US Sen on them to force their hand.

Letter:
1 Transfer your medication from a retail pharmacy to safe, convenient Tricare Home Delivery and pay less out of pocket! A typical cost for a 90 day retail supply is $51 but only $13 for Home Delivery.

2 Ask your doctor about using a low cost generic that is not among the medications included in the Pilot Generics can still be filled at retail for $5

3 Transfer maintenance medications under the Pilot from retail pharmacy to a military pharmacy. Call your local military pharmacy to see if they have you medication

4 Continue to get you selected maintenance medications at a retail and pay 100% of the cost of the medication starting with your third refill.

If you refill your selected maintenance medication’s at a retail pharmacy after March 14, 2014 you’ll get letters from the Tricare Pharmacy contractor Express Scripts, Inc about switching to Home Delivery. Remember, starting with your third fill you will be responsible for 100% of the cost of the medications if you chose to continue to obtain them at a retail pharmacy.

If you have other health insurance with a prescription benefit, you do not fall under the Pilot. There will also be a process to obtain waivers on a case by case basis, due to personal need or hardship, emergency or other special circumstaces-0 such as living in a nursing home. After participating in the Pilot for 1 year you may opt out.
